That 700bhp Evo 7 is the NorrisDesigns demo car - it actually has about 800bhp, no nitrous.

Nice kill.

thanks, didnt something happen to that EVO when they were trying to beat the world caravan towing record on top gear? i cant really remember but they had to stop towing and couldent beat the record

That is true. My GTR would ignition cut at 181kph. There are four ways around it. Cut the #53 wire (not reccomended), aftermarket speed cut defenser or equivelent, chipped ecu (R32 only), aftermarket euc.

I've had my ecu chipped and the ignition timing and fuel maps tweaked. I've gained even more midrange and top end with the car pulling happily to the rev cut of 8,000 rpm through the first 4 gears at a rapid rate, while fith does take a bit longer to max out say 2.2k's.

what about the R-34?

BMW POWER:

That Evo does 215mph, 60 in 2.8 on no nitrous, street-legal non slick tires, and full street interior trim. It has a full aftermarket fuel system, in the boot.

The car was on top gear, attempting to break the world caravan pull record, and it blew a piston (revving too high, not enough speed). Stupid thing is, now Top Gear/BBC won't pay for the small repair work scheduled, and this was not in a disclaimer of any sort.

skylinegtr-guy:

Yes, the R34 was also limited to 112mph. This is a legal requirement by the Japanese government, but as RazorGTR has said, this is not a major problem to get around. It is good to buy a car with the limiter on, as it shows that the car hasn't been abused.

lol true but they can still ride the car all the way to the limiter...a limiter doesn't mean it hasn't been abused....but If I was going to buy one I'd make sure to have my mechanic check it out first ;)

so 112 is the legal limit in japan? so thats why my car wouldn't go faster lol...

The R34 and R33 ecu's are not re-mappable, at least outside Japan. I've talked to quite a few tuners about this not one has been successfull. Usually in Japan they retune 1 of 2 ways.

Piggy back programmable fuel and ignition computers, or go with a Power FC or eqivelant.

The chip in my R or should I say a chipped ecu in an R32 GTR can produce up to about 800hp. Anything beyond that it is aftermarket ECU time, but hell who cares as you would have invested well over $40K USD to make it reliable so what is another say 2k USD.

ok thanks for the info!

I was thinking more along the lines of HKS...I know they're the most expensive but all the tuning companies seem to trust them...

I was thinking that once I get to higher power levels I could put in
a HKS EVC Pro to manage boost levels.....an HKS F-CON V Pro will take care of the ECU and a HKS A/F Knock Amp to help tune the A/F maps...maybe a HKS Twin Power DLI sytem to take care of my ignition...I don't know I just like HKS...anything you could suggest thats better? I'd rather pay more and know I'm gettting top of the line quality products than go cheap and regret it later.

...what maximum HP level would you consider using while maintaining drivability?

Do you have an R34 GT-R?

Do you have AIM or MSN Messenger?

Reliable hp - 800bhp, which would preserve driveability.

HKS is good.

1. No I do not have an R34 GT-R because my schooling costs about 100,000 so it was either the skyline or my education...I figure that once I get out and make 100,000 a year plus bonuses and all that crap I can afford one. I would get about 25-30 thousand dollars as a sign on bonus which I would probably use as a down payment on a R34 from motorex.

2 yes I have both....I've added you to my buddy list in AIM...

My SN is SkylineGTRguyR34 I'll see you around...

3 thanks

4 I thought so....
