Well, what I really want are the NTSC F1's but because the PAL version of the game hasn't got the actual bodies I can only drive them with a stupid looking daihatsu mira body on top of them and with wheels miles out.

Is there a way anyone can get all 6 of the ntsc F1's and stick Polyphony 001 and 002's on them.

I mean I can make an F686/M like this by getting the Polyphony 002 body and sticking all the F686/M bits on it. But id rather have the F686/M, with the body swapped with the 002 or 001.

So does anyone know?

Edit: I'm also doing this for the pal members who are entering sandstorms comp so we can have a better selection of F1's.

I've had a look with MK's and put what I kinda want as a save. Also it brings the total of F1's down to 4 really because the Poly 001 and 002 are in the list anyway.

So it's just F687/S, F090/S, F686/M (these could have the Polyphony 002 bodies) and the F094/H (which could have the Polyphony 001).

Heres a save with those 6 cars.

I think the wheelbases - of the F686/M in particular - won't match up too well with the P001 and P002.

If you're happy to have non-F1 bodies on the cars, I can do it.

U do it the same way as U change any other part. Hilite the cell for the body, right click, select change part and choose a body.

As Heydu says - just down below transmission is a "Body & Downforce" box. Change that... :D

Just checking over, I'd say the best bodies are:

F686 - Tickford Falcon (2793mm vs 2790mm)
F687 - Zonda C12, C12-S or Zonda Race (2750mm vs 2730mm)
F688 - Polyphony 002 (McLaren MP4_4) (2875mm vs 2875mm)
F090 - Polyphony 001 (Williams FW16A) (2896mm vs 2890mm)
F094/H - Polyphony 001 (2890mm vs 2890mm)
F094/S - Polyphony 001(2890mm vs 2890mm)

Aaaaand to back that up:

Although they are mechanically identical, I believe, the bodies are different - the P001 has the 1995 Benetton nose cone.

Forget my own head if it wasn't screwed on...

For the purposes of the body swap which is the subject of this enquiry, the body needs to be changed to the P001 body, BUT the chassis is ALSO different. The P001 has the williams_fw16a chassis, the F094/S has the williams_fw16b chassis. These have the same wheelbase.

A couple of points, I think U could safely put the Poly 001 or 002 body on any of the F1s, and not really notice a problem with the looks.

Also, in response to Majarvis/Famine, your both right. In NTSC the F094/s is the Poly 001, in PAL, the Poly 001 is a different car, and there is no F094/s I don't think.

Well, the F687/S has a 2750mm wheelbase. The P001 body is designed to take a chassis of 2890mm (the P002 is 2875mm), so you'd end up with a MASSIVE 140mm difference - anything over 50mm looks stupid.

The F686 is stuck in no-man's land - there's nothing really very close to it at all, but the Falcon is only 20mm longer, so can get away with it. The F687 really has to be a Zonda (Race Car for preference).

Marjarvis WOULD be right if he said that the P001 was the equivalent of the F094/S, but they aren't the same car at all - different body, different chassis... Like saying the Jaguar R3 is the same car as the Ferrari F2003-GA - they're both F1s too...

To clarify, I have put short wheelbase chassis in F1s, and I wouldn't say it looks stupid, at least not to the extent of mismatching them on full bodied cars. Of course, looks are in the eye of the beholder.

As for the Poly 01/f094/s yes technically your right, there is no Poly 01 or 02 in the NTSC game, just as none of the F1s in the NTSC game are in the PAL game. What causes the confusion, for me at least, is when we NTSC gamers use MK's to get the Poly 01 and 02, we get the F094/s and F688/s respectively, so I commonly call them the Poly 01 and 02.

Not being a Formula one fan, I always assumed that the Poly 01 and 02 bodies were creations of PD. Is that so?

I didn't mean or intend to contradict you Famine, but what I should have said was, mechanically, they are the same, my bad :) Or another way I could have said it was they are the equivalent in their respective regions.

And I also agree it would be like saying that the Jaguar R4 is the same as the Ferrari F2003-GA. Such an avid Formula One fan as I am, I am ashamed I made such a general statement :embarrassed: Oh well, it's the weekend, and I got lazy ;)

One thing comes to mind now, I don't know if this was the original topic of discussion, but can you get the Polyphony001 body in the NTSC game?

I am such a dummie, I thought that it only changed the downforce, not the body as well. Thanks guys, now I will be able to see which body works without having to bother you guys.

Thanks.

Edit: Well putting the P001 and 002 bodies seem to look ok to me, although i'm sure I will notice something retarded looking on the replay.

My apologies Majarvis - I wasn't trying to rag on you. But I am an incredible pedant :D

Heydu - the opposite is also true. I play a converted NTSC game, so I can run in mph (which is the standard in the UK). When I win a P001 or P002 I get in my garage overview a P001 or P002, but viewing the cars themselves I see F094/S and F688/S above them. The bodies are the P001 and P002 though.

It seems that the P001 has exactly the same body as the F094/S - a 1994 Williams. But the P001 has the nosecone from a 1995 Benetton on the front.

The P002 also has a different nose cone to the F688/S, but I'm not sure where it's from.

I have such a game saved on my website for Canadians...

http://jump.to/fmax is the site index. Click on GT3 when the main page has loaded, then on Xport. Right at the bottom are 4 saved games - one is a blank (ie day 1, 0%, 18000cr) PAL-to-NTSC save, .sps format. Feel free to grab it.
