Kinda odd that they have a Mac on it though... (though there are a number of Unix geeks who have moved to OS X)

Wow, that thing weighs 177lbs?:odd:

I wouldn't want something like that. I'd feel like the world's bigest computer nerd, or something. I'd rather have a La Z Boy and a laptop.
 
Keep it at home. :p

And trust me, I have a laptop, and the ergonomics that come with owning one are terrible... I keep my iBook on a stand at the computer desk and an external keyboard and mouse... this setup works quite nicely. Now I just need a proper computer chair.

But using any laptop as a laptop puts a heck of a lot of strain on one's neck and shoulders (though it keeps you warm during the winter!)
 
It's nice looking, but it seems impratical a bit. My monitor would never fit on that. 850$ without S&H is pretty steep, too.

Okay, what does fsk it mean???

That thingo is teh suck, I'd rather have some sort of recliner next to my desk than buy that 1500$ AU "THING".
 
Actually I think it would be more useful in a Network Operations Center, or NOC. People tend to sit for hours on end and need very comfortable computing areas. Additionally, NOCs are often used to show off technical prowess to clients, and there's no doubt that a setup like that would impress the clients.

Why, do you have a grudge against that particular one in the picture?

DODGE the VIPER - "fsck" stands for file system check... while you can easily infere what the purpose of it is through its name, it would be best if one of the Unix-knowledgeable people (Loudmusic? Giles? Rjenson?) explains how it works, lest I want to make a fool of myself. ;)

Though it looks like I already have by posting this thread...

I wouldn't be supprised if the people at Pixar have some sort of stand similar to that, less the light on top and the platform, but the shelving and such, I wouldn't be supprised....

P.S. I'm still quite a beginner for Unix, so it would be best to ask somebody else as of now..... Plus, I don't leave my Linux computer on for an extended period of time because the computer is so loud and is in my bedroom, which is kind of small, and I didn't keep it in my closet because being in a closet is bad for computers because of dust & crap....
 
Eh, people spell my last name, Olson, with an "e" (Olsen), so I tend to spell things with O's... ;)
 
I particularly like the one in the red shirt with her arms crossed on her knees. She has a look on her face as if to say, "lets go find a blanket in the park and 'study' eachother". It also leaves it up to the mind to create a chest for her, since she has rather ... small boobs.

I also like the other one where she's in a red shirt. I picture her saying, "How you doin`", ala Joey from Friends. Perhaps I don't like those other shirts ...
 
I don't know... Her face doesn't seem to make much sense. And she can't smile properly.

Yeh, your post obviously...with it's massive pics, it's non-56k friendly...of course if i was on ADSL i probably wouldn't mind...;)
 
DV, if you're on 56k, just right-click on the pictures and save em on your hard drive. THen you can view them in no time anytime you want!
