Why does this license test require near perfection??!!

I've got a gold on every other test bar this. Twice I've almost caught the 1st place car but just missed out!!

It's doing my head in now! I've found that if I don't hit 1:23.xxx first lap I've got no chance.

Any suggestions?! BTW I've got TCS and ABS at 1

:(

The main issue I had with this test was the twitchy nature of the car under heavy braking. ABS @ 1, ASM off, but Active Steering @ Strong made it a piece of cake though.

And you're right about 1:23 on the first lap, anything higher and you may as well restart.

Oh, and I personally found that I was losing a lot of time at the corner end of the back straight (where you have to go downhill, then it's a slight left before a hard right). You have to get this turn absolutely perfect, so you can come out of it without touching the wall on the left but already hard on the gas. It was actually a subject of a previous license test (even though with a much more stable car) so adapt what you learned there.

I found just go for it and really push for it, you have to get that left right shicane after the second straight spot on, get very close to that wall and carry the speed through ... I think you get in the lead in the last section.

IC10 was to me one of the most challenging (and enjoyable) races.
I got silver... I'm not gold hunter so was happy just to pass it, but was not made at the first (neither 10th :P ) attempt.

Don't downshift the gears as soon as you start braking
Let the car lose some speed, then you downshift

It helps with the stability

Map the RA menu to your controller, if you use a ds3, and set the brake bias towards the front. I can come 2nd with the standard bias 5/5 (TCS 0, ABS 1), but I haven't been able to gold it yet. I'm experimenting with 7/3, which is much more stable and controllable, but I understand that something like 4/1 may allow stable braking all the way into a corner. I'll be trying that next. I have to relearn the braking points with every change, which takes a while.

The way I did it was you have to finish the first lap in 3rd right behind second. pass second through the first right turn and pass first on the 3rd turn for the straight. I also had all assists off except abs 1

I passed them a lot sooner than the guy in this video, but you get the idea. And I thought his pass for first was funny ;)

Finally did it!! All 60 golded!!

I drove in Automatic, set the ABS to 1 TCS to 2 and Steering force to Mild. Just kept racing it until I could hit 1:23 laptops one after the other. Messed up a few times but finally caught him in the last corner and forced him out wide. Almost lost control on the corner due to over excitement and having spent about 10hrs trying to get the gold!

This has to be the most annoying license EVER in any of the GT series!

PS thank you all for your hints and tips! Now for the Vettel challenge!!

I have been struggling with this one for a while, it's my last one but I can never seem to be able to catch the leader.

I think you're on to something with the 7/3, using more of the front seems to make braking so much more stable and allows a faster exit. My best run so far was with:
-TCS 1
-ABS 2
-Brake bias 7/3
-everything else off

This is a tough one indeed, the only thing that keeps me coming back is the fun driving Ferrari!

this is easy s**** try the gt4 licences then you know what hard is

i would say the special licence is easier as the others... because you have cars in front of you.. so you can see the distances, breakingzones etc

Glad to report that after months and months I finally Golded this badboy! I use a DFGT, left everything normal (TCS 5, ABS 1, but MT). Now to figure out how to youtube the video. Tried my phone but it looks like crap. Once I search the forums for options I'll post my video.

This video helped me out a lot, actually the poster's comments did:

Wow, I remember GT4 with that annoying Nordschliefe license where you had to do one lap in a Mercedes 190 behind a slow car that must not be hit.
But OT, I can't do it as i'm so used to the old layout :(
