I was doing some random clicking and browsing through some blogs when I came across this one(blog entry of Friday, January 28, 2005).

I think that it is lake Geneva. So they had a storm blowing (fresh!) water on land and freezing temperatures.

There are more pictures here.

Be sure to look at the cars :) You have a serious problem if you left you car parked there! The locks can't even be seen, the doors are frozen shut and the car is probably stuck to the ground. I'll post one pic here, plenty more if you follow the links.

That's pretty interesting how the ice froze around the radio ariel on that car and has just got realy big :)

I wouldn't want to be caught inside the car either :p
By the looks of it no one would be able to tell you were in there.

lmao look @ the antenna! thats huge! its like a fat frozen baseball bat! ...looks pretty damn cool though, but i pitty the guy whos car that is.

Yup, don't thaw it out too quickly or he'll have a load of broken windows

 Look at the volvo!

Either that or an Envoy, you can sorta see the outline of the passenger side headlight.

Which are basically the same aren't they? Maybe the roof rack will tell us something, although I've seen the trailblazers with the lengthwise (up and down) roof racks, ala the one in the photo (maybe a 2003 model?), and I've seen others with sideways roofracks (left to right), which I think are the newer models. Either way thank god that antenna isn't one of those ones that stick out sideways, cuz when that ice starts to give he's gonna have some pretty poor radio reception...

What would you do if you were inside your car? :s

You could turn the engine on and crank the heat, but that's practical and less imaginative... ;)

Wow, that's pretty serious. Does it say anywhere how cold it is there? I've never seen so much ice!

According to the BBC weather central, a low -4° C during the day and a very low -20° C at night. Allthough thats today's forcast, but I'm guessing that they had around the same temperatures when the pics were taken.
