I received a trustmaster for xmas but I'm a couple of seconds slower than my ds3, so I probably won't use it until the next season.

Yea, Its a very different experience, it need some weeks to get used to it.

I am even not really sure that i have become faster whit a wheel at any time. I used a controller maybe for 15 years so you can't really transfer the experience into the wheel.

But i am happy whit the wheel, i want never use a controller again :sly:

I switched to my g27 in august last year , it was definetely a struggle at first and I could indeed be faster with the ds3 but overall driving is better with the wheel , especially tire wear and management.

I've always wondered the same thing . Which is better to use , what are the differences ? I hope someone can shed some light on this for us .

I think it doesn't matter. When selecting it you only get the other wheels, the older wheels. DFGT/G25-27 and the T500RS isn't selected when selecting this option. And I haven't felt any differences when I tried it. Put it on Simulation and it might give you a placebo effect making you believe it feels better ;)

Agreed Erik , since I got my wheel I left it on simulation and haven't touched it since , so I wouldn't even want to go mess up things now . I just imagined there would be some diference maybe with the force feedback or power assistance .

I've been amazed at the times we have pulled out of this medium tire , I'm pretty sure we will see races this season where no one even uses the soft.

I've had to work my setup towards the medium tire , my qualifying sessions won't be great but my race pace should be par with the front runners .

Well that's what I'm working towards and hoping for with some luck :)

Maybe its just me but i think mediums and hards are better since the last update. But i still think softs can make a big diffrence on some tracks. Specially when you have good tyrewear. At Daytona the softs were very good to use.
At Fuji my tyrewear is so bad i can not use the softs. still i have some time to solve the problem.

I tried the power assisted steering in a race. And it really messed up my race. A race car doesn't have power steering. It might be a reason to that. Felt really stupid to drive, but it didn't kill my arms. But for the best feeling and the best times around the track this need to be turned off. At least with the GT500 cars.

I used to have force feedback on 10 with the DFGT, but with the T500 I moved it down to 3 or 4 and its still much more feedback than the DFGT. Having it on 10 only messed up the driving feedback. Hitting the curb and get a so hard beating it felt like it was nitroglycerin on the curb isn't making my lap times better so it had to be turned down a bit. I might turn it up a bit over time, but I doubt I put it back to 10 ;)

I use 10, its perfect, but in some cases you indeed get a big kick on the kerbs. not sure it slows my car down or not, didn't really test it.

Reducing it feels better on the kerbs but on the track it feels a little bit loose...

This is my last day off , back to work tomorrow .

Im about to start practice, if you want u can open the lounge Skengd..

I didn't know i had it on amateur, really weird.. but when i switched to simulation it felt more better, it felt heavier but at least it was giving me more fun & but more feedback i think..

Mid 1:36 should be decent on medium tyres. I bet someone will do better lap times. I haven't tested the soft really much, but 1:34 something should be decent on soft.

I found a setup whit more or less good tyres. did average (s)1:35's (m)1:37's. Then i found some time my best (s)1:34.6, (m)1:35.6. But my tyrewear is degrading even faster now.

i think i did a low 33 previous year in a NSX...if i am correct. 💡

I will be using the Ds3 for the remainder of this season. I'm faster, and I can control myself better when I'm on the side of someone. I plan on ordering the playseat from the UK, but I will launch that technology on the next season. I will state though that the control you have on shot tires could be very beneficial!

Well I been doing a lot of testing/practice the last two days .

This track is just tough , its really hard to be consistent and also improve on your lap times here. Managing tire wear is also another issue here , its taking me lots of time to find the right balance but I think I have found my setup .

Best soft time is a 1 33 9xx and my best medium time is a 1 35 3xx

I better get on my practice then. I'm 2 seconds of the pace. I struggle to get a decent setup I like for the NSX. :yuck:
