Idea for a Gran Turismo 5 commercial

Anyone remember the absolutely brilliant Shell Ferrari ad?



Why not a similar format where all GT5's poster cars (Ferrari, Lamborghini, the new GTR, Lotus Evora, Citroen GT) drive around a seemingly connected series of roads (but are actually well-known sections from well-known tracks blended together) with the final stop being at either the 'ring's pits or the Polyphony HQ?

Funny thing about that Shell video.....racing past the Coliseum, New York,Hong Kong, Monte Carlo.....do you see what im getting at.......origional GT track locations!!!
 
Camera zooming through one of Jay Leno's car collections, just to find him sitting in a corner playing GT5.
 
I like that Ferrari Shell ad. Something similar to that would be great for a GT5 commercial.

Bit off topic but, I use V-Power in my Holden Commodore with V6 engine LOL.
 
Start with a Covette ZR-1 (blue) unloading at Daytona. A driving gets in pulls onto the track and starts his lap. Then a Nascar Stock Car pulls out from behind him (Jeff Gordon), then a WRX rally car, (Ford Focus) pulls out from behind the Nascar sc, then the Audi R15 comes from behind him, Then the Nissan GT R xanavi comes from behind him, and to finish it off, the ferrari F2008 comes from behind him and before you know you've got every major motorsport running together on one of the fastest tracks in the world.

This. But have the slow car in front so everything in the back is covered, and as the faster cars slowly pull out and pass the camera it gets gradually a faster and faster car.

or show about 15 or 20 seconds of SLS AMG driving around Nurburgring Nordshliefe and then at the end put the GT logo with the release date under it.
 
Screw my first idea (the one with the the ZR-1), not that it wasn't good, but I think I've got a better one anyway.

It starts with an Audi R15 in the garage (no music what so ever) being worked on by crew, (crew putting engine cover on and checking wheel nuts etc.). The crew chief gives the driver the get ready sign, (view from behind the car) while the garage door slowly opens and you start to hear the crowd cheer and the announcer over speakers. Then the engine starts and the car slowly rolls out as the screen fades to the Gran Turismo Logo.

I'm sorry if me performing CPR on this thread pisses some people off, but I've searched for this topic to save me the embarrassment of being told that there's loads of threads like the one I would have started up. I have an idea - get Kayvan Novak (a comedian notorious for prank calls) ringing up an HMV store asking for "Git 5" (GT5), saying it's better than "Fim 3" (Forza 3) and "Nifes Shift" (NFS Shift). ^Its generally bad business practice (at least in the UK anyway) to compare and contrast to your rivals in public, so not really a good idea.

The most potent commercial just needs 5 seconds. Only display the GT 5 logo and then the release date. Of course, some stunning gameplay could be shown.

Why are they using fake engine sound and tire noise that is not in the game? :(
 
Any ideas for a Kevin Butler commercial, since that's what we'll be getting?

Yeaah, i love it when music builds up... and then the GT logo comes up and you hear that engine revvving nicely! 👍

Agreed! YOu need at least 10 second tho...

Just a Black Screen, then the GT5 Logo Falls down like a Concrete Block...
Fades in the release date...


leave it like that for at least 5 seconds for it to sink in to people's mind... making sure people understand that it has finally arrived!

Couldnt be more stronger of an image to make everyone excited to the highest level! At last a date! The day our savior will come!
 
How about a Nascar being vapourised into bolt size pieces and then it freezes, pans in 3D with all the debris hanging in the air, and finally zooms in on a bolt which has the GT logo on it... then the black screen with Date.

I'd also like to see just a stationary car on the ring, like the new Mercedes, the camera slowly panning and time lapse over 24 hours with various weather.
 
Any commercial WITHOUT Kevin Bulter is a good one. Don't get me wrong they are fun and interesting and brought attention back to the PS3 but some games don't need a goofy spokesperson taking up the little time they have that shows off the game.

The most impressive and attention getting commercials for video games are the ones that showcase in-game footage that makes people go, "is that for real?" GT5 can easily pull that off. Add a soundtrack to it one that manipulates your emotions and get them your heart beating in the same tune as the game and you've got an ad.

A Kevin Bulter commercial with some idiot going "Dear playstation I've been trying to go to work but I can't seem to get into my garage. Please help!"
Kevin, " thats a video game with ultra realistic gameplay with over so and so cars but I understand how you can't tell the difference."
Guy, "...so I don't actually own a 2010 Audi R8?"
Kevin, "um, no."
Guy, "Really!?
Kevin, "sorry."

Haha Rocket Punch. Hey whatever happened to the obnoxious (but in a good way) HeadOn commercials?

Anyway, here's an idea:
"I don't always play racing. But when I do, I prefer GT5".
