What do you think would improve electric cars? At the moment they are of limited use, so how could PD make them better? Here are my ideas

1.Fuel Stops
Add a system with a slower recharge than petrol to enable use in longer races.

2.Upgrades
I know that the existing updates would not make sense but what about specific upgrades, eg more batteries, better motors and energy recovery.

Electric cars are useless in real life for doing anything that resembles racing. Why should they change that for a game?

Electric cars are the future of racing. I was at autosport and saw an electric formula car, Citroën GT concept?

Maybe in the future, once battery size and weight has come down and recharging is quicker, but right now the power source (batteries) are not nearly as dense an energy source as petrol or any other combustible fuel, so you just end up with extra weight and size.

It'll be a sad day though, I'll miss the sound of engines :nervous:

So you saw one electric car at a motorshow and that somehow proves the future of motorsport is electric?

Its not going to be electric. Its going to be hydrogen cells. Hydrogen is the most abundant element in the universe and hydrogen cells only let off water, not exauhst, so it is great for the enviornent too. I mean, the batteries only hold so much charge and they have a huge carbon footprint in production.

Either way hfc = electric. Also more electricity is used in the refining than is produced. There is almost NO elemental hydrogen in the air

I thought I'd heard the idea was that in the case of a pitstop the battery cells would be taken out and fresh charged ones put in? I cannot imagine you'd park the car in the pit and wait for it to charge. You think fuel stops are slow in GT now how about a 40 minute charge time!

First of all, a few more electric cars would be nice. I wouldn't buy one in real life, but I like them in the game.

Second, perhaps an electric championship should be added.

The best way would be for PD to allow you to enter multiple electric cars into the same race. Lets say you're doing a 100 lap endurance and your Tesla Roadster only does 10 laps on a full charge, if you have 10 Tesla Roadsters, you can enter them all and change car every time you pit. :p

I agree with Shant. His idea is very good. Walesy, although electric cars should be added, they should probably focus on better, more complex things:idea:

PD could add a online electric endurance leaderboard thingy
You would drive the GT by Citroën concept around a circuit (not Tsukaba) and see who could do the most laps

I know electric cars might be the future but they don't have any personality, not even the Tesla. I realise that PD have implemented them because they might be historically important but I hope they don't spend too much time on electric cars. We'll have to accept them in the real world sooner or later but I'll dearly miss the scream of V10 engines, the growl of V8's and the VTEC's and the Rotary's etc. What will those distinctive sounds be replaced by? wwwweeeeeeeeeewuhweeeeeeeewuh... that's what future cars will sound like. :( I'd rather PD concentrated on letting us enjoy our beloved engines and kept the electric cars to a minimum.

The above is my opinion and I will freely admit that I'm sad about the inevitable death of proper engines, hence why I'm generally against anymore electric cars being included in GT.

I was very disappointed with the Tesla.

It does NOT perform to the real life specs (stock). Supposed to do 0-60 in less than 4 seconds stock, but I can barely hit that fully tuned.
