There's been a lot stated on the GT5/GT6 economies. Some love to grind while other don't want to spend the time. Personally, I'm in the group who just want to buy cars and race.

There is a lot you have to do in the game to enjoy it. Not only are you the driver you're also the owner, and mechanic. PD has put a lot into the game. For you to enjoy you have to have the credits to spend. Lets say your in one of the career mode race. You want to pick a different car to run the race in. Then you want to upgrade the tires before the race. The tires cost you $9,000. You win the race and only receive $25,000. At that rate how do they expect you to upgrade to a more expensive car, buy another set of new tires, buy racing gear, tune and modify your cars?

You're really being "treated" like a race team owner. All the responsiblity is yours. So once you get your "International" license lets start paying like an "International" race. Get paid like you have to maintain the car, pay the crew, driver and mechanic and make a profit for yourself. Like an owner that will allow you to expand your team into another type of racing. Lets say you want to go from touring car racing to LMP racing. After lets say 10 races you should have more than enough to buy an LMP.

Thats my idea. Get paid like you are the owner, cause with your responsibilities you are. Whats your idea?

Whatever happened to the PP adjustment bonus? That was a rather nice thing, in my opinion. It encouraged driving lower pP cars, as well as giving a little more cash to the peasant payout of the race.

That's a good thing to have. If only PD would adjust the career mode and maybe even the seasonals to have the same 3 dificulty settings as in Arcade single race. The more difficult the setting you choose the more it'll payout. The best drivers would earn the most but shouldn't it be that way anyway? GT is a proving ground of sorts as well IMO.

PD needs to change the pricing for race cars and pretty much all the insanely expensive car in the game and increase the payout proportional the length of the race. No idea why we have rare cars that you have to buy and not win through some event that PD sets up, that would make them rare and not just some ridiculous price. The point is to get players wanting to race and use the cars, not force them to grind incessantly to afford said car only to have to pay for paint, rims, all the parts, oil, refurbishing the chassis, cleaning, and soon to come body repair. Let's not forget you do not have a locker for all your purchased parts for each car you switching means buying stuff you purchased before again...archaic and ridiculous.

PD needs someone to inject a different philosophy about game progression. GT needs to be more of a sandbox cars should have it's own locker of parts, paints etc. To keep the redundant buying down to a minimum. Races should allow you to clear them and win the prize again like in GT3 and GT4. A fair prize system and no more silly overly priced cars.

I can understand having some rare/classic cars in the dealerships that you would really want to get your hands on. I also like the idea that the further you progress in career mode the more valuable the cars that you win. Even multiple cars at a time when you lets say win the GT Supercar Championship with all gold (5 races) using the highest AI setting and 100pp lower than the comp. If you win that you get 3 of the $20 mil cars. If you win on the lowest AI and very close PP then you get a single $5 mil car.

In essence there are a lot of thingsl that CAN be done. A previous poster suggested PD needs a more progressive way of thinking about it. Totally agree!

Honestly, I see no reason why it shouldn't be just like we have in GT5.

'cause in GT5 if it weren't for the Bspec widget I could not have grinded enough to get where I got. I was highly satisfied to have 4 X2011's in my garage with different colors. To the see the replays of them flying down the track; that was satisfying to me. I had roughly a 600 car garage with multiple of cars I liked painted and tuned differently. A pair of Z4M's one for the Ring and one for everywhere else. Buying and driving new cars then watching the replays. That was my fun in GT5.

In GT5 there was seasonal where you did 1 lap on the ring, which took 6:30-ish, then you got 1,000,000 credits. It was a pleasure to drive the lap so didn't feel like a grind to me. At the very least we need seasonal's like that again. However, you'd still need to do 20 laps just to buy even 1 of the 20 mil cars. This games economy is definitely broken.

grind used to mean dev can't be arsed to develop enough content

now grind means we are going to make it so boring you will spend insane amounts of real money to progress

Leave it , got enough cash to buy ever car and modify it .... Thanks to the bug kaz didn't fix or anything else we the fans wanted to be fixed or updated for a decade ...I am just happy to have a full garage without 2 years grinding seems like just Gt5 spec 3 now to me .... That's what I wanted .... So much free time can just race with my mates online now start were I left off

So a good driver should be able to get 3 20 million credit cars at the same time for just a few minutes of racing? That is far to large a prize. The notion of a not so good driver only getting a single 5 mil car from the same race is absurd as well and would have people screaming about not being able to beat the Minolta with an RX7.

A single prize car would be good. In GT4 the prize for this event was the Ford GT Spec II LM Race Car and the race was a lot longer took quite a hile to drive through it and get that car. If memory serves it was 10-25 10 lap races

Perhaps they can put in some money glitch that gives you 10s of millions to spend. Those who want to can do the glitch, and those who want to grind it out can ignore it....

This is what forza is changing in a update coming out soon hopefully gt6 can follow

This content update includes the first wave of adjustments to the Forza 5 economy, which we initially announced in early December. These adjustments are based on player behavior within the game, as well as feedback received from the Forza Motorsport community. First of all, we are dramatically increasing the rate at which credits are being earned in the game. For example, driver level payouts have more than doubled (from just over 15,000 credits to 35,000 credits). Players using average difficulty settings will also see approximately a 60 percent increase in credits earned per hour of play -- a number that can dramatically increase by upping the Drivatar difficulty and assist settings used during races. Wherever your skill level lies, however, you’ll be earning more credits per hour in Forza Motorsport 5 to spend on the cars that matter most to you.

In addition to increasing the payout, we have also reduced the price of the best cars in the game. In fact, the cumulative price of all on-disc cars in the game has decreased by 45 percent. To use a specific example, the Ferrari 250 GTO, one of the most expensive cars in Forza Motorsport 5, will cost 2 million credits after the content update, down from 6 million credits when the game launched. By comparison, that same car cost 10 million credits in Forza Motorsport 4.

By increasing the amount of credits available to players and lowering the prices of cars, it’s never been easier to earn the best cars in the game; in fact, thanks to these economy updates, Forza 5 will be able to earn their dream cars in approximately one-fifth the amount of time it took to earn those same cars in Forza 4. Naturally the most exclusive cars in the game will still take some strategy (and some saving) to acquire, but these changes mean that even the fastest cars in the game are now within every Forza 5 player’s reach.

Read the whole post. Saying a driver who golds the championship at the highest difficulty setting (Pro) should get a more substantial reward than someone who golds it on the lowest difficulty setting. I know difficulty settings are not present in career mode currently like they are in arcade. Saying difficulty levels should be carried over from arcade to career. So guys with different skill levels can still enjoy the game.

Nobody is going to accept the squeez on a game economy so that the greedy devs can take free money from us. This should be a strong message from us to them that this is not acceptable. If they want extra cash from us then earn it by giving us quality DLC.

I can see in future games, they will start giving less and less content to try to make more money from DLC. Turn 10 already did that with FM5, because currently there are less cars and less tracks in FM5 than FM4. No Nordschleife apparantly (pretty sure that will come as DLC).

Unlock all cars and have a realistic season based single player mode.. there really is no need for credits atall, online would be much better without them.. and everyone could enjoy the decent cars

It's very easy to fix the game economy in GT and make everyone happy. When you fire up the game for the first time it gives you the following alternatives and you tick a box with your answer(s).

GT has several career modes available to you. You must choose a minimum of 1 but can tick multiple selections up to all 5. At any point, if you wish to start over in any Career Mode, you can do so with the push of a couple of buttons.

1. Traditional GT Career Mode - Hardest to obtain credits, longest offline game time, continuously updated with additional events based around current and DLC cars.
2. Shortened Career Mode - Easier to obtain credits with better prize cars, more suited to the busy individual with less game time available.
3. Sandbox Mode 1 - All cars are available from the beginning of the game and in your garage but you must earn credits to modify them.
4. Sandbox Mode 2 - All cars are available from the beginning of the game and all modifications are free.
5. Online Career Mode - Suited to those players that don't wish to play offline. You have a fixed number of cars available to start the game and earn credits in online races to improve your cars. Special rooms set up with fixed race times specifically geared to, and available only to Online Career Mode racers. Prize cars awarded as milestones reached such as race wins, podiums, money earned, gentlemanly driver etc.

You can also choose to maintain separate bank accounts for each form of racing or mix and match at your hearts desire. Voila, everyone can play their game their way, everyone is happy:cheers:

Email this to PD and close this thread, we're done here.:sly:

Still 60 million in cars for a few minutes of racing? and only allow the novice drivers to get 5 million in cars more than 10x the reward is way over the top as is 60 million in prizes for a simple set of races. Even a single 5 million car for this would be high though a prize car would be cool it should be possible for those drivers who aren't so good to get the same car if present.

What? Even with the seasonal events? What on earth did you buy? You get a pretty significant amount of money from seasonal events.

I agree that the economy is silly; it takes forever for me to save money up for a 1 million CR car. I don't think we need to change much though to improve the economy system of the game.

My ideas:
Idea #1: Increase the CR count for winning races and allow us to redo events to win the cars over again like in the earlier GTs.

Idea #2: Similar to GT5's online system: give us players a login bonus and us players should be able to earn more money depending on how far under the PP limit we compete in events.

We should have been able to get money by the way we drive each race, instead the microtransitions and this money glitch has already ruined that, which is quite sad when the game has just been out for a week :(
