The way I see it with cryonics, you get frozen when your about 50. You have a bit of money in investments (10 million minimum) put someone in charge of your estate (family member, advisor, Swiss bank) make them work on your investments for the next X amount of years and this way you are funding your freezing and when you wake up you have a butt load of money.
There would be three times when I would like to get thawed. The first is the most obvious, assuming all goes to plan, a thousand years into the future, I wake up. Future is awesome, I'm some random dude from the past who is essentially a cyborg due to the amount of replacement parts that are keeping me going. Then I live around for a little bit, then maybe freeze myself again and travel into deep space (assuming we can't go faster than the speed of light yet) (more on that later).
Second outcome, huge world war, potential nuclear apocalypse. At 50 years old you're too old to fight in said war, so you build yourself a suit with your large masses of money, go out, and just mess people up in this war. Even if you don't fight, at least you get to witness the end of the world and all the hecticness that goes with it.
Thirdly, I would like to be frozen and put on a ship and sent into deep space. Im talking long, long range, another galaxy even. Universe potentially? Go through a wormhole, whats it matter to you? You're already dead.
The way I see it, is we are at the bottom of Everest, there is a long way to go and the only way is up. The human race is nowhere near its peak and I for one want to be around to see it, or at the very least, the very end of it.
