If I was flying in a plane would i feel an earthquake down below?

I have always wondered this but never thought of asking anyone, so can you help me?

Yea i thought earthquakes were caused by tectonic plates moving. So i dont think the whole atmosphere moves with it

Thinking about it you may feel something very slightly but you wouldn't be able to tell it over the usual noise and turbulence you get on an aircraft.

When the quake occurs it will shake the ground which in turn will displace the air around it (cos the atmosphere is a bubble) like if you close a book in a room it generates some air movement.. however this shock wave would be so slight that by the time it reaches 35,000 feet above earth where you plane is its almost dissapeared. On the ground you may feel a brief gust of wind, but you would probably be more worried about the earth shaking everywhere...
