If the PD Cup ran a race at Test Course, who would win?

PD Cup has been one of my favorite races now for a fair amount of time. (In the period of 2 weeks, i did it 17 times, most recently with the 427 Cobra) My question is, who would win a Test Course Poly-Digi race? Given to you are the plethora of vehicles used in the cup series, except for the Vette's of course, which would lose anyhow.
 
The car with the best gear ratio's and most power.
So probably the Mustang or R34 Skyline GT-R.
 
If you hadn't left out the GT One I would've voted that, but Mustang's got my vote.

I voted the nsx.

I'm not quite sure which would win. As someone else said, gear ratios and power are the key.

So first off, anything that doesn't have 6 gears is more than likely out of the running.

Then it's just a matter of power, pwr and downforce.

I'd have to say that out of the cars listed, the nsx, the mustang or the Z would win.

I mention the nsx because it has a great weight and alright power in combination with really good geometry.

The mustang would be the most likely to win in my opinion, but I would like to see the nsx get some good representation.

Personally, I don't think any of these would be able to beat the Z06.

So mark up a vote for the Z06.

Btw, with a group of stock cars that could so evenly match each other, I think it would come down to driver and drafting. :trouble:

Anyway, I may look into this, but I doubt it.
Test course sucks without a doubt.
 
PD cup is the road car one, yeah?

GT-one road car, hands down. THat championship was ridiculously easy in that, i used T3s i think, and i slaughtered the other cars big time.
 
btw the GT-one has a ptw ratio of 685.6!

with changed oil (and that's after 700 miles of driving, some1 said that the max you can achieve with an oil change goes down after driving)
the car has 617hp and a weight of 900kg. You can get plus 1000hp with a turbo on it, but of course that wouldn't make the car race legal ;)
 
oh yeah sorry by power to weightm i meant the proper figure (horse power divided by weight) not the strange GT3 calculation, which takes weight divided by horsepower, for which you get 1.458
 
my lap time in the car for test course (default settings) with a rolling start (i.e. my second lap) is 2.00.591 though that was on auto, and I'm sure with better gearwork I could have knocked off a couple of seconds. In addition, I'm sure that the better GT drivers out there can beat that time with easier cornering etc. But I'm quite sure that a stock Z06 or R34 can't get a time quite like this.
 
update: since before, that lap of 2.00.591 was very close to my first lap (2.00.986) i decided to just go one lap, but this itme in manual with minimum downforce and no TCS or ASM. My lap time now stands at 1.56.949

Oh yeah! I didn't realise that would be in it! Unfortunately I can't get one tho, because you only get it in the Tuscan cup i think and i really cant be bothered to do that one again.

Well, the answer is the Z Concept. Similar power to the others, lengthier gearing and it doesn't even USE tyres.
 
Good choice Famine. I have to agree here, but also with GoKents with his choice of Z, NSX, and Mustang. But ZO6? :odd: I wouldn't think it would make it for one lap without changin' its tires, since 1 lap there would be three laps anywhere else.
 
The GT-One hits the rev limit too early. The Speed 12 is the fastest followed closely by the CTR2.

EDIT: GT-One doesn't hit the rev limiter but it has too much downforce. It can't get above 336kmh

Speed 12 - 352.2kmh (rev limit)
CTR2 - 348 kmh
GT-One - 336kmh

The CTR2 has revs left at that speed. Would be interesting to see if it could draft the 12. It would win if it could.
 
well, all those cars could win if a human was driving, just don't pit, the retarded AI will pit putting you in the lead and keeping you there. Also, run way down below the yellow line, it cuts the track length a bit, thus improving your time.
 
*scratches head* I really do not know however I think it is time to expirement some with this matter.

yeah, i should have clarified that early on. Sorry 'bout the mess-up. And I am very pleased how this poll is turnin' out. A beautiful spread across the board which you don't see too often. :D
 
A Mustang Cobra R? Hell no, its a ford.

I'd say the Mazda RX-7 TypeRZ.

Other than that, the only non-supercar that will win the PD Cup will have to be the NSX Type S Zero.

That'd be something to try... PD cup in an S2000. 💡

As far as top speed goes, out of the above list, it's either the NSX Type S-Zero or the Supra RZ. I'd put a fiver on the Viper GTS as a serious candidate, however.
 
Do they use a viper in PD Cup? I have never seen one, but then again, I have yet to race against the NSX!! :eek:

Some would contest that the NSX IS a supercar. That aside, I can win the PD Cup in a VX220/Opel Speedster, Lotus Elise 190 and a Honda Integra Type-R.
 
i did it in a MS elise (Exige for those in other countries) and blew 'em to bits. :odd:
