I find it amusing that you talk about how taking "300 days" to collect every car is insanity, and then harken back to GT4 as if it was somehow quicker then.

Either your memory is severely lacking, or you just Gameshark'd your way to a full garage in GT4, since the exploits you now have to work with didn't exist.

Back in GT4, grinding wasn't nearly as bad. And then I just switched channels, now I have everything running with my PS3, internet, and I watch movies and tv off of my external hard drives. Gamesharks still exist? I remember using that on gameboy but that was way back when. I take it that's how you got on in GT4. My data kept corrupting, so I had about five real good saves. Best was no more than 500 cars, and 80ish %. Can I borrow your gameshark march 4th?

Unless you're one of those people that think there's an exciting diffrrence between driving a Skyline R34 GT-R spec II '01 and a Skyline R34 GT-R MNIII Nur '01.

I've done every sub-9 hour A-Spec race at least a dozen times by now, and it's starting to feel stale.

Stop pretending they envisioned any sort of longevity out of this game outside of collecting standard cars.

SO, I have finished all there is to accomplish. B spec is 37, A spec is 32. Special events are finished.

Online sucks with bad racers.

Standard models look very poor, and lack customization. (even GT4 let me swap wheels)


But I understand your point of view. If I had nothing better to do, I would just sit and race. That's the problem with working, being in school, and having social obligations. I am a huge fan, and obsessed with automobiles, but why continue to show support for a giant company who takes steps back, and doesn't help build up their product. Honest to God, if six years ago someone showed you the PS3 and what it could do, and told you to imagine GT5 on it, do you think it would be like this? Really, it's a or b. Then 6 or so choices, with nine sections. 1-5 races.

It's pretty, but not impressive. We deserve better.

I dupe for myself, by having three accounts. Two of them have ONLY money from seasonal events, my one account did the corvette race a few weeks back, and I went from level 0 to 17.

But what do I do with this? I am going one by one through every car and trading to my main account. Because I want to collect, and drive every car. I don't trade online. I don't race online. I don't sell cars. I don't even have any friends who play GT5.

My only reason to play is for that. If Polyphony will not let me collect one of every premium car, paint and mod it, then I will be quitting. I thought 2.5 months to earn every car was bad, but doing it this way means almost 300 days.

I do think an inportant reason why people dupe&trade and want to get all cars quickly is because many of us do not think GT5 will have that long a lifetime.

In a year only the die hard racing fans will be playing it much.

I've actually duped paints because I find the paint chip system idiotic. I agree that you should earn cars, but not paints. This isn't Gran Paint 5.

Stop thinking that there is some reason why you should have everything in the game within a week/month/year, frankly GT5 is made to endure this kind of amateur/immature outlook to provide fun for years to come, not just for the next week or month...Not that anybody really cares for your decision to quit or not.

Yep, because let's face it.... it's not as if GT6 is going to come anytime soon.

I don't mind taking my time collecting the cars I want in the game, even if that means grinding A & B-spec as well as the seasonals... although I am a fan of racing games, for the most part I'm really only playing when I have free time at home and no work/social commitments. I enjoy using the photomode if I get a little tired of racing, and have yet to explore the course maker.

Sory but GT5 was consrtucted to be a game for months and years not for days and weeks.

I'm happy for your lose. Listening your whine because you can't get every car in week, month is like sweetest music to my ears.

GT4 also was grindfest like every GT. Game is consturted in way that as we play it everyone of us will have diffrent garage by ending game.

I'm not very good, but I've got more than 200 cars (without the workarounds). I haven't even been able to drive every car, let alone that I'd be missing something.

It looks like people become furious when the developer doesn't make the game specially for them.

Same here, I have just over 250 cars and have barely used half of them... was quite pleased when the FF/FR/4WD seasonals came up and found you could still earn credits on repeated races... this gave me extra races to try out cars that I haven't yet used.
