15 Hours, 40 Minutes, and probably deaf by the time I get there.

After doing a little figuring ...

2816 miles. One day. Figuring that you'd be crossing into three time zones if you head east to west you would essentially be getting a free three hours giving you a total of 27 hours in a day to work with, if you want to cheat (:

So calculating at 26.5 hours, allowing 30 minutes for error, the car would need to be driven at an average pace of 106.3 miles per hour. Round to 110 for good measure. A mear 105 if you want to cut it close at 27 hours exactly.

Now if you want to be official and stick to one time zone's clock you're looking at running an average of 118 for a continental crossing in less than hours.

It's where a bunch of crazy rich people get into their Ferraris, BMWs, AMGs, etc. and complete the course that you've planned out (I believe it's cross-country...... Not entirely sure though). Last time I checked there's a video on www.car-videos.com (Videos > Street Racing > Gumball 3000). Cops can, and will pull you over. The car that was doing the filming (while competing) reached 200mph, on public roads. There was also another guy flying down the shoulder. It's nuts. You can get yourself killed easily. But could certainly be one hell of time. :D:tup:

I would love to take a ride in a blue Viper.
Due to high taxes on cars in Denmark it's a very rarely seen car here. Though I've never had any interest in cars I've always known the Viper, so just cruising the countryside in it, would be so sweet. :D

A 6 day race across the us with partys every night at 5 star hotels, last time they ended at playboy mansion for a huge party with the bunnies :D people from all over the world race, they fly their cars over here just to participate, there are cars ranging from BMW's to ferrari F50's, skylines, vipers, bentlys, even a mini  last year there were over 200 cars, they do some crazy stuff too. I have the video where a semi wouldn't let a guy in a RUF pass so the guy takes the rest area exit at 180 mph and blows through to pass the truck! The F50 got clocked at 185 and had a nice trip to jail. you basically get to do everything you could never do by youreself on public roads. Most of the cops are pretty nice as long as you're not endangering people by going 100+ on crowded streets, lol one of them was taking pictures instead of flashing radar. There was even a cop who pulled over the RUF mentioned above and asked the guy for a ride in exchange for not giving him a ticket! lol. It sound sooo much fun, can't wait till I have a car that can compete!

The driver of the Koeniggsegg CC reached 242mph. However, since it wasn't an attempt on the record and ths wasn't independantly scrutinised, it is only unoffically the fastest road car of all time.

For the record, the fastest helicopter, the Westfield Lynx, peaks at 333mph. The South Yorkshire police helicopter, representative of police helicopters as a whole, can only reach 180mph. This means that if you drive a Koeniggsegg CC on American roads, not even the police helicopter can catch you.

Id like to build a handling hot rod by myselft then go to the Stellvio Pass and try it out there. I'll change the "car" for "cash", so I'll end up with a tidy 1934 ford coupé with open-wheel racing car suspension and an aluminum-block 354 HEMI with EFI, all black-primered with solid red primer flames, but big, sticky tires and light american racing wheels. the only old thing would be the body :D everything else would be almost an open-wheel race car (yeah, it wont have fenders) wich will weight some 2500 pounds, yet have some 500 hp. yeah.

well, I have changed my destination. I was reading the "street racing tokyo" article in my firend's Sport compact Car mag of some months ago. I want to take the 34 there :D and kick the ass off all those Japanese cars. f course, it would take a lot more than that to really kick ass in the wangan, including a slightly more aerodynamic body, so it would be a 34 "repop" body by rats glass, wich is far more aerodynamic than the real ford and is made of fiberglass, so it is lighter. the HEMI would be pumped by a hightech (boost controller, adjustable blowoff valve, the lot), intercooled twin turbo system (sealevel... oh, yeah) and the said open-wheel racecar suspension. some carbon fiber trimming under the car to let air flow freely under it, and some sticky michelins or advans with light 17 inch "kidney bean" magnesium wheels and 14 inch brembo stoppers. 6 speed McLeod transmission turns an aluminum driveshaft and drives a Posi Halibrand quickchange rearend with some 3.55:1 gears. an aluminum wing mounts directly to the trunk to keep the rearend planted. said black primer with solid red flames pinstriped in white. an stripped racing interior with nothing more than two seats (the left one quickly removable :D ) and aluminum panels painted black primer to match the car, a racing sprint car steering wheel, and essential instruments. it's a featherweight with some 800-1000 hp. yeah, I think I could be a runner up.
hehe, good fantasy.

Cano

it would look a lot like this one, but it wouldnt be that blingey :D

Got rice b*tch, got rice? Lol just kiddin man, its not a bad car. Whatever i said before Id have to change my mind, Ive decided to try and break the 8 min mark at nurburgring, thjis time the weapon of choice is a RUF CTR2 or Porsche GT2, only I'd get rid of any understeer first (I sure Mr. RUF could arrange it)
OR enter that gumball thing in an original (most likely, restored) Shelby Cobra 427... I've never really been a fan of muscle but mmm, mmm sweet american pie.

36 pounds of boost. He can put thousands of miles on it like that as long as its tuned properly(and with 980hp, you know it is), doesn't run lean, etc. Why is he stupid for building it? If it can support it without a problem, why not? There are several stock internal Supra's with over 800hp. The 2JZ-GTE's internals are perfectly capable of withstanding 800+hp with no modifications, and no problems.

Yep. Scary, isn't it?

I've only ever heard of two other 200mph+ runs on public roads.

One was a Japanese stuntman, filming in the UK. He was estimated by police at 210mph on the A1 (a two lane road) at 5am, and it wasn't until he slowed down 7 miles later that they could get near him.

The other was the president of the Japanese Ferrari Owners Club, who filmed himself (and inset his speedo) doing 200mph in his F40. Then sold the videos. Then was arrested on the video evidence... (cretin!). This video is one of the scariest things you will ever see - he passes a lorry, which you don't actually see until he's passed it...

Now, releasing a video of you doing 200 on public roads is just stupid. Im going to Japan...

Or 242mph, as it's better known... :D

Blimey. This place is so big that the echoes take 2 days!

Have any of you guys heard of get-away in stockholm? at one stage this Jet Black Supra get in excess of 300km/h. the speedo stops at 300, but the Tach keeps going like another 1000 revs before he slows down so that must be pretty close to 200 mph. Oh, also its obviously not stock.
(edit) Also There is a loophole in Danish law that states If they are not caught they are allowed to release the Video and stuff. however its not like they dont try and catch them, plus you never see there faces and They call themselves Mr. X and stuff.

I wouldn't want to have a Skyline for a day for two reasons. One being that i've already driven a fast Skyline and the other is that i'd want to drive it for more than a day!

So i'd choose the one and only Koenig Ferrari F50 and i'd cruise all around the South Island of New Zealand to places i haven't been yet. :)

New car by Chrysler. Quad Turbo. I'd let my friend try to chase me with his NA Porshce 944 in one of these.
