That would defeat the purpose of "gifting" the car. When you go to a store to purchase a gift for a family member, and you give it to them, do you get your money back? NO.

Well I heard from somebody that this happens, but I wasn't sure, thanks for the replies.
what! They don't do that anymore?
There goes my idea to give away exotic supercars and strippers as christmas gifts.

I'm well aware that this is pedantic, but you're only getting your car back this way.Save game to USB.
Send car.
Download 'save' from USB.
Bingo! You got your bucks back.

Uh, nope. I'll try to make it clear. No, you get the car AND the cr. back.
This is how it's really done. You must save the save (no pun intended) to the thumb drive BEFORE buying the car, not AFTER.1. back up save game before buying the car
2. restart game, buy & send
3. restore backup
4. get friend to send car back using same method
5. you both have the car and you still have your bucks
Uh, nope. I'll try to make it clear.
Let's pretend you have 100,000 cr and you want to get a Skyline from the UCD. It costs around 40,000, so you have 60,000 cr after buying it. Now you copy the save to the thumb drive, and send the car. And now you go to copy the save from the thumb drive to your PS3, and go to the game. You'll notice that you have the 60,000 and your Skyline.
