IFTC-GTR.jpg

:: Suzuka Circuit ::

Race Details:
  • Mode: Arcade
    [*]Physics: Professional
    [*]Track: Suzuka Circuit
    [*]Make: Japan > Nissan
    [*]Model: GT-R Proto '05
    [*]Drive Train: 4WD

Vehicle Specifics:
  • Driving Aids: Optional
  • Transmission: Optional
  • Tyre Type: S2/S2
  • In-Race RA Functions: Optional (if available)

Race 06 Specifics:

  • Green areas beyond the rumble strips are not considered part of the track .
  • The run-off area between 130R & Casio is not considered part of the track, and is therefore out of bounds.
  • Any lap time gained prior to the Race 07 start date 08/12/08 23.00 GMT is invalid.
  • The use of the G25 Clutch is prohibited

Standard Clean OLR Rules:
  • 2 wheels on (or vertically in line with (when airborne)) the track at all times
  • rumble/ripple strips are part of the track
  • run-off areas are not part of the track
  • no contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible

  • no hybrids
  • no cheating of any kind
  • nothing that goes against the spirit of the rules

Lap Time Submission:

Why we use GMT:
GMT is World Time and the basis of every world time zone which sets the time of day and is at the centre of the time zone map. GMT sets current time or official time around the globe. Most time changes are measured by GMT. Although GMT has been replaced by atomic time (UTC) it is still widely regarded as the correct time for every international time zone.

Replay Submission & Verification:

All drivers must save their replay and keep it at least two weeks after the deadline of this race.

  • all drivers are required to submit their replay upon submission of their lap time
  • only point scoring submissions and a select number of random submissions will need to be verified
  • It is the responsibility of all drivers & teams to carry out replay verification, and the outcome of the verification posted in the relevant results thread
  • any replays not verified within seven days after submission will be considered clean
  • GTP Race Admins replay verification decisions are final

Stewards Comments:

Please note; You still have a full week to improve your time for Race 06. (Deadline 15/12/08)

On behalf of baxnimis, GTRP and the GTP OLR Team, I wish you all luck and hope you enjoy Race 06 .

nice to finally see suzuka(-full circuit..) in the championship, and i cannot recall driving the gtr-proto before,so very interesting...very...

EDIT:aiii....this car doesn't have onboard/cockpit view!!!...i have to relearn how to drive like previous gt-versions again...well,another challenge for me than...lol.

Interesting choice. Don't think I have touched the GTR Proto. Yet another challenge for me.

That is what has been good about this championship. The fact that I have been forced to do combo's that I would of never previously considered.

Thanks Sphinx, appreciate all the hardwork. That also goes to all the other Admins involved including Vaxen.

I have just done my first run and, OMG the thing won't loose grip, it is sureal having spent a couple of hours trying to improve my time with the vette, with its lack off grip. It has thrown me, I am driving around Suzuka expecting it to loose grip at any moment.

I think this combo is excellent and one that requires you to go all out.

I'm looking forward to this one. :) Although I'm not very competitive, this series has improved my skills at GT5 in general and has been a great way to transition from GT4. I hope to see this format used elsewhere even if it's on a smaller scale. Maybe an influence for the WRS?

No many seem to have done it, as the top100 is only top sixtysomething. lol

Look out for Danil1007, he won the spanish Academy racing on Suzuka with a GT-R, is the only one combo he can do properly.

I did this combo a couple of months ago.. actually held top spot for a while.. when there were only 30 or so entrants :).. now getting lost in the field. But at least I improved my previous time pretty quickly, and still another .5 there somewhere for me i think.

You ·"!/)?!¿#@, i was enjoing so much my first position on the GTRPDB. lol

LOL, That was my thought, Stick in a time so I could see myself top for once. :)👍

Lol, for me it´s even an strategycal affair as becausse of those points and the ones of race 6 it looked like i was on 3rd position of Driverstanding and i said to my wife: " look, you see how much worth is the time i spend there"

Haha, I did that for the last race but it back fired,...by the time she got home I was well down the rankings:lol:

The problem is that there are other competitors that won the GT Academy in his country with the same combo (Fasty and Zocker_16... xD).

Anyway, I like these car and track and I'll try to do my best.

We drove the normal GTR on the Academyfinal so no advantage for us.
I think the Proto is very easy to drive more then the normal one. I had a 2.15,4 with my 3rd try, but maybe thats the Spirit of Nissan in our blood... :sly:

The GT-R Proto is a bit easier but anyway it's very similar to the normal one I think.

Fasty's Nissan Spirit is stronger than ours :scared: xD

This is the best combo so far for me .. the car is brilliant on S2's and I could race this one all day long easily 👍 Great choice!

130r is the only problem bend .. maybe sometime soon I will be able to get a nice speed through there in my best lap .. I lose a good .2 there easily :(

GL to all

Well I'm done with this combo, done one day at this time trial and cannot get to grips with it. I know there's time to be chased on this as proof of the 30+ people in front of me from online rankings but i can't seem to get infront of my best ghost, so instead of flogging a dead horse, going to have a gander at the TVR.
Must say though, brilliantly organised, and can see the attraction instead of online racing all the time, biggest plus i think for me is the improvements i can see in my standard of driving courtesy of this event. Probably never be good enough to get a top 20 but more than happy with the way I'm going.
👍 to the guys behind this event

mate, try driving without the ghost...it will focus your mind more on the track/corners than your ghost infront or in your mirrors...:sly:

Me to, dont like the to drive with ghost on:yuck: brakes my concentracion.

I never race without a ghost and also I can never race with that racing line showing on the track .. it puts me off so much more than a ghost ever would for some reason  to each their own I suppose :)

I just flip the ghost on to check where I am, I use it like the split timer. I tend to turn it on where I have trouble spots but just for a second. It's too distracting for me to keep it on all the time. Occasionally, I leave it on for a longer duration and try to let it 'pull' me closer.

I race with a ghost but i leave it off during corners, i only flick it on on straights to see how i faired in a particular corner/series of corners;)

And if you are the fastest man alive, Whom´s ghost do you use?

I placed my my right foot in a hole on the street yesterday night and I heard a terrible sound from it.... now my foot is like a big red ball :(

no suzuka for me (and I think neither fuji)... but I hope to be back for race 9 and 10 👍
