DD, I'm in. You know whats funny? Most of these people have never really been pushed to the limit by a human being while racing this game. Most only race the crappy AI cars. Its kind of funny most people make up their own game within the game. I guess people are afraid to see if they are up to par on their skills.
Where do you live in Missouri USA ?

I wouldnt be so sure of that if I where you, I think you will find that quite a few of the OLR guys here have done a whole heap of I-linking, and with all 6 machines going at once

Nothing beats the thrill of racing against another person sitting right next to you

Have you tried OLR? I'll give ya a run any time

LEt's wait for gt4 to play online

(I live in ROME)

Hey MUSTANG_LOVER I have your same problem nobody it's good enough to beat me

Wait for GT4 boy!
The last tournament they had in Joplin brought out alot of competition. I think the total entries was around 80 people. I think DD (I am sure you will have to varify this DD) was there and done very well. as for me I came in 6th but two of the people I run against every weekend finished in the top 3. I didn't make the final race because they only link 5 people up and then broadcast the other link for a series of big screens in the building. I would of finished better but blew the Andretti corner at Laguna. Oh well, $30.00 to get in and $76.00 won. Well anyway youll have plenty of competition when we hook up in GT4. They didn't name me Mr. Kwik for nuttin!

I would... but I'm in Ohio... :(:(:( It's so lonely here. sooo sooo lonely.

I live 2 hours away in Xenia...

But Lucasville has the great honor of having the only maximum-security prison in Ohio, and of being one of the few prisons to have a week-long riot involving murder and staff members taken hostage.

So maybe I'll stay in Xenia with the tornadoes. :D

Hey I live in Northeast AR. Maybe I could join sometime, I'm not that fast, but I'm sure it would be fun! About 30-45 minutes away from Kennett, MO!

And about the competitions and tournaments how do they do that? Does each person get to choose what car they want or are they chosen for them and which tracks and how many laps?
Thanks!

no, you can't pick your own car or your own set ups in ilink mode you have to use the arcade cars so they keep it simple and they draw from a bucket with all the tracks in one and all of the cars in the another. so just say you might end up driving a race car or a stock vehicle. It just basically caters to the guys who can drive fast, consistant and are very familiar with all the tracks and cars. Everyone drives the same car in a race. They split you up by drawing numbers and certain numbers go to which ever group. so say you draw #17 then you look on the board and see which group of linking equipment you go to. It seems like it takes forever to get started but once the racing begins it is a blast. I can say this there might be a lot of people on this site who can make a fast lap but are they consistent? can they drive more lines than just one? The guy who won was not all that fast but he would put a series of laps together that was flawless and that would win the races for him. Well enough said:)

Sounds like fun, how often do they hold these tournaments?:D

The one in July was the second but they only do it once a year. I was told that it may have been the last one due to the online version coming out later. I think we are going to try and have one here at the MGTRA in Nevada MO later this fall. The problem is we only have six ilink setups. So it would take forever if we had a large turnout and from what I have witnessed on occasion we would definatly be over crowded. I know that there are alot of people here in MO that race this stuff. But that is to be expected look at all of the race tracks around here. Alot of race fans that can't offord a real car so they get into this stuff. Sorry again for the long post:irked:

Pretty cool how they keep it fair, i gotta try it someday! ;)

When you are racing the best you drive clean. If anyone hits the other it's just usually a racing deal. Sometimes you run a whole race with 5 other people and the competition is so close that you stay in a pack for the whole 5 laps. changing places and lines constantly! (5 laps in a heat race)

Alright, is anyone interested in an i-link tournament in Nevada Missouri? The MGTRA is going to have one last tournament (if the responce is good enough) in February. So if your interested let me know. This is for GT3. A way to make some $$$$ and gear up 4 GT4.

Yeah sure! give me a few years to lay the 3000 mile i-link cable required, but I'd love to :p

Aside from jokes it sounds like a good idea for you folks anyway.
