Pulling out the placenta at birth, not a good idea.
Better idea then eating it

I'll also make my pitch in favor of breastfeeding - it offers a huge array of advantages for mother and child (not to mention daddy - no heating bottles at 3:00a) that I always recommend it. My wife would be happy to offer advice if things don't work immediately (and sometimes they don't).
She's decided on that already. The one oddity is that some people are oddly vocal about your choice of baby feeding (formula versus natural). Some people feel very strong about your choice, and of course, there's some people who think breast-feeding is very Stone Age-age, anti-women's-rights thinking. Others are just offended by what animals do for their children.

Anyhow, as a6m5 said, your conversations really do change, especially with those who have kids or are going through pregnancy. You start talking about car seats, not horsepower. Strange, but true.

As long you don't start threads about car seats. ;)
And congratulations to you, father-to-be and to your wife.

If you need advice, don't hesitate to ask.
Same here.

She'll get to eat more and still lose weight. Sign me up, er, scratch that.

Congrats, boss. :)👍

Awww, she’s got your hair… :p Many many congrats to all three of you! :)

Here's a big congrats Pupic, you must be very proud right now, and deservedly so 👍.

Congrats! One more reason this time of the year is going to be the most hectic, but most joyful time of the year for you and your wife!

She's so cute! Congratulations to you guys! :)

P.S. Now you gonna be up late on many of the nights anyway. You can just spend more time with us on gtplanet! :p

ahhh Congrats Pupik

Just try to get rest when you can :p

Awesome, dude! She's adorable! 👍

Congratulations to you both!

(From the pics you posted, I always thought you were having a girl; no marble. :))

Congrats!

Going to be doubly hard on the wallet at Christmas time, then. :p

Congrats, Pupik!

That must be a standard issue baby blanket - we had the same one for both of ours. I take it everything is going well for all parties involved?

One piece of advice: Get her on a schedule as fast as possible. Granted, that is impossible for the first few months, but eventually, get her in a groove that works and stick with it (feedings, naps, bath and bed at the same time everyday). My soon to be 3 year old now tells me that he is tired and needs a nap. :D

Huge congratulations :D

Make the most of the early years because time does actually speed up when you have children (my daughter will be 6 in May and I have absolutely no idea where the time has gone...:nervous:)!

Krongratlatio...um...Confatuatin...er...Graduatio...oh well,
CNGRTS! :p

Chris.

Just make sure your wife approves any and all pictures for public posting...

Congratulations to all 3 of you! It's quite an adventure. The thing to keep in mind is that throughout history people have successfully had babies under all manner of terrible conditions - so she's not going to die from most of the problems you'll encounter. After she's been crying her head off for 2 hours, that may be hard to believe, but the thing to remember is DON'T PANIC. Very few parents are bad enough to accidentally kill their babies through ineptitude. That crying is just programmed to generate the "Ohhholycrapsomething'swrongI'vegottofixitnow!" response in parents. Keep a lid on that repsonse and you'll weather many storms that would otherwise seem huge and terrifying.

Good luck! Keep us updated on how everybody is doing.

My brother already heard an earful from his wife for not realizing that public feeding exposure is definately the feeder's choice...

A usual day of work is having about 5-10 people scream at me, so one baby is actually not as bad as I thought it would be. Then again, it's in the stage where she just eats, sleeps, and cries.

It's pretty much a flowchart:
1) Did you change it? 2) Did you feed it? 3) Does it want to be held?
If yes to any or all, then it will be okay.

:) "A hearty congratulations to .... FormulaNone!"

Oh wait. He's not in right now?

Um, okay. Gimme his voice mail.

"Hey man, I just wanted to say congrats and all! Don't forget to drop by with a cynical quoteable once in a while and for godsakes, don't drop off the face of the planet like all those other GTPers who had kids and oh yea--"BEEEEEEEPP!

Damn.

*grumbles*
