I'm excited! Just bought a Logitech G25!

Wow guys.. just wow.. this is sensational! I feel like I've wasted so much of my time on GT5 with a DS3! this is a HUGE difference and I absolutely LOVE it! Even though it just took me 2:40 to go around Spa in an F1 car, this is phenomenal!
I think I'm gonna try learning to drive with a wheel on automatic and then change to manual. I know how to drive stick but this is totally different, in real life you don't make so many up/down shifts within a minute LOL
i love how I can FEEL it when I'm running over the kerb :D

Use the side paddles for gears, try not to use auto. Becomes a bad habit :)

yes indeed.. totally different game with a wheel. Congrats and Look forward to hours of fun.:dopey:

Hahaha i did the exact same thing when i got my G27, couldn't work out for like an hour why it wasnt working, thought i had something set wrong on my PC (this was before GT5 was released)! Anyways enjoy the wheel, i'v never driven GT5 with a controller but its hella fun with a steering wheel!

No offence to anyone but how can someone use ds3 on gt5 and still love it for so long lol

I've been playing the Gran Turismo series on a controller since 1998 and have always loved playing it. It has only been within the past 6 months that I started using a proper setup which definitely has taken this game to another level but the GT is perfectly lovable playing on a controller.

Is the clutch functional?

Depress clutch. Foot on brake. Release clutch. Car stalls

Shifting is a bit tricky and I don't advise using the h-box for online races, but it is fun in A-spec

The paddles are awesome!

A couple of points worth noting. 1, you don't have to have the wheel set to controller 1, if you set your ds3 to controller 1 it makes it easier to navigate IMO. 2, set your steering type to simulation and turn the power assist off, all they do is slow you down, take feel away and give the car a mind of its own. 3 higher ffb strength will make the car feel more stable and give more feel as to what amount of grip you have, I use a G25 and have the ffb set to 9 but it comes down to your preference. Good luck .

what i did when i moved from the Ds3 to a DFGT, is literally re-do every single licence test from the beginning to the final SuperL test.
Helped a HUGE amount, but requires patience as it is kinda annoying re-doing them, and with such a steep learning curve

getting a wheel got me back into the game again, now i love it even more, and just drive cars around tracks trying to improve my lap time - something i never did when i was on the DS3

i just gotta find a good stand for it, the wheel stand pro is looking good, but a little pricy, especially with shipping it to canada- its even more expensive from the US store.....

Ok cool, but where can I find those settings at? like steering type and power assists (unless you're taking about tc, skid recovery, active steering, etc) and the ffb (force feedback I'm assuming?)?

and thank you everyone. I don't see how I was able to play and put 300+ hours into this game using a DS3 :P

You can find the wheel settings under the settings icon at the main menu right after you skip the intro.

Anyways congrats on your new wheel, Its a much more immersive experience as compared to using a ds3 :)

Ok I didn't see any force feedback options and such in the Wheel settings, but I'll have a look again after work.

Here's what it looks like right now. I THOUGHT the wheel and shifters were not going to fit, but they ended up fitting pretty nicely. I had to use some clothing to push the pedals a bit forward so I wouldn't have to reach all the way to the back. And I think I need a more comfortable chair... I'm currently sitting on a tall chair and needless to say, I'm not very comfortable haha

for whatever reason GTP's Attachment is giving me an error, but here it is: http://just.razzi.me/photos/460997/b6630f2.jpg

The force feedback adjustment is the very first option you can select in the Steering Controller options. Enjoy :)

Nice ~ Welcome to the Steering Wheel Club
You will never want to use DS3 again
Also try buy yourself a good racing chair, it is totally worth it
ever need a friend just racing or crusing, feel free to add me

Yeah definitely! But I'm not good whatsoever right now. when I get decent I will hit you up for sure!
Right now I'm STRUGGLING to even do a clean lap hahaha (I can do a clean lap fine on auto, but manual tranny is something I've never driven on a race track)

Lol I looked over it. Wow ffb at 9 makes the steering so hard to turn lol. I might drop it to like 7 or 8.

I started out with a low ffb setting at first 1 to 3 but now I have it set to 10. However, if you decide to take the X2010 or X2011 out for a spin you're going to want to turn down the ffb setting because it will be difficult and tiresome to hold on to. Personally, I just avoid driving the X1's.

I started out with FFB at 10. It took me, a 15 year old kid with no real life driving experience, about a month to get good at the game again.

Very sweet setup, pretty much identical to what I have. It's good to have a bit of space between the wheel and shifter so you don't accidentally knock the the shifter when in 2nd gear. I use two short planks of wood in a T arrangement to move the pedals away from the wall, could try a carpet and lock it with the spikes in the bottom of the pedals aswell.

I've been looking for a suitable low shelve/stool/whatever to mount the shfiter low down like it is in a real car but have yet to find a good one.

yeah thanks! I do have carpet flooring but I didn't know they have the carpet spikes until I watched some youtube videos and some guy was talking about them LOL. So yeah I use that now. and yeah honestly I think this will do for me until I build myself a proper cockpit. Only thing I might need to buy is a chair... I use a pretty tall office chair that won't go down any further so I'm in a really uncomfortable position haha.

for some reason I just can't shift into Neutral on the H pattern... I press it down and move the shifter all the way to the bottom right (as it indicates) but in game it only goes to 6th gear lol. Sooo weird!

You mean reverse? A friend of mine had the same problem with his early gen G25, the reverse was simply broken. Luckily you don't need it often and you can still reverse by hitting triangle.

Too bad you can't do one of my favourite things then, build up speed and then put the clutch in, shift to reverse, release the clutch with the throttle floored and try to keep the car straight. It's good practice for how to handle the wheel and turn it quickly.
