Im finally getting a ps2......w00t!

Well, I am gonna get a ps2 soon, and I was wondering what some good games would be. I already play on getting GT4, GTASA, MGS, Half Life (already have it on pc, but wanna try it again with a controller, I seem to do better) all the MGS things, and God Of War. What are some other good ones?

These are the games I play the most. Nobody should be without them, IMO.

Le Mans 24 is very good
F1 2005 is awsome
GT4 / GT3, if you want playabilty over everything else get GT3, if you want tonnes of cars tracks, long races but not so amazing playability get GT4.

If i was in your shoes i'd save for a PS3 (remember what happened to N64 when the game cube came out and what happened to the PS1 when the PS2 came out)

Games i recomend:

GT4
Burnout 3 (especially if you hook the PS2 to the internet)
GTA: SA
Star Wars: Battlefront (sounds cheesy i know but online, you will be playing it for ages)
Tony Hawks Underground 2

I can't believe a prominent member of a Gran Turismo site, like yourself doesn't own a PS2! Anyhow, to those who's telling silverzone to wait for PS3: He's just getting PS2 now, I don't think he's getting PS3 at the launch.

On recommendations, first, I'd like to talk you out of the Half-Life game. I got it for like 10 bucks a while ago, it was so crappy I sold it. Telling by the reputation of that game for PC, I'm thinking the PS2 version must've been not very good.

Other than the games people have already recommended, I'd like to suggest Street Fighter:Anniversary Collection and NBA 2K5. I think I got them for $30 & $15, when they just came out, so must be really cheap now.

Killzone, don't listen to those reviews on gamespot and IGN, this game is awsome, i always feel like i am in the middle of a battlefiled when playng it
if you like fighting games: Soul calibur 2, Virtua fighter 4: revolution, tekken 5
Winning Eleven 8 International (if you like soccer)

Formula 1 2005 is a great game, I recommend that, I'm having more fun with it than I did in GT4.

I've never owned a ps2. I am a gamer that only buys cheaper things most of the time, (im getting my ps2 for 80 dollars ) And I am not even planning on owning a ps3. (No telling how much it'll cost....) Thanks for all the reccomendations. I am so sick of just being stuck with a gamecube... I just found out that MGS 2 is 3 or 4 dollars used at gamestop. and GT3 is like 6, so I know Ill get those two when I get the ps2.

Two series that weren´t recommended here so far are Ratchet & Clank, and Jak & Daxter. Awesome games, every PS2 owner should at least try those.

Are you still getting the MGS2 and GT3 for 10 bucks, used? Those two games were great. GT4 is a better game than GT3, but I like the GT3 so much more.....

Yeah, MGS2 was 4 bucks, GT3 was 6 so I need a credit card now.. .

Ill probably rent GT4 for a while, then buy it once I can get it for cheaper.
