So, yeah, my girlfriend of 11-12 months, Holly, is like 6 days late. She took two pregnancy tests we bought at target, and they both said the same thing - she's got a loaf in the oven. I guess we'll know for sure today when we go to her doctor - I made an appointment for 12:30 today.

We're both really excited, yet really ****ing scared at the same time. This is something we both wanted, but not exactly right now. I wanted to at least wait until I got in the AF Reserves(but they're dicking around and taking forever to approve my IFCIII physical, which is nonsense cause the doctor already approved it). We probably won't be married by the time the little bugger pops out, but we will be engaged.

I dunno. I'm just freaking out! :scared:

Well, congratulations!

Honestly i don't think i'm ready for a kid right now, but if i knew i had one coming i'd be exstatic. It's a lot to deal with and yes you're life is clearly going to change, but it's gotta be worth it right? - A little nipper running around :)

I mean "congratulations", if they do turn out to be in order.

Edit: Which they do!

I suggest "Doug" for a boy.

Hey congrats! 👍

Famine, funny but isn't that a tad harsh?

Possibly. It just reminded me of it (and I've amended my message accordingly) - but I don't think anyone thinks I'm saying Josh should go kick his girlfriend...

Is feeling sick and uneasy normal when it comes to this? I really want this, but there's so many things about it that scare the hell out of me.

I already know she's pregnant, but I don't think it will really sink in until the doc tells us for sure, or until she starts getting fat/showing.

Congrats!

- you've always been 'the daddy' as far as i'm concerned :sly:

Congrats Josh, I think it's normal to be feeling like that, not that I've had the experience (were not planning on having it anyway) but one of my mates had a kid, he was literally sick when he found out, he was happy about it, but it's such a lif changing thing it can be very scary I'm sure.

Congrat, Josh!

There's nothing to freak out about. If she is indeed with child, just plan ahead. Go shopping early for all the kid crap you'll need, 'casue Lord knows she won't want to go shopping 8 months from now.

Get the room fixed up, crib together, and diapers and you're good to go. Buy some clothes but leave room for people to buy clothes for you. :sly:

Side note: I'm at most 45 days away from kid 2, myself.

Congrats! Time to grow up now, eh? ;) I was in your situation about 14 years ago. There are a lot of new and old dads around here (oddly enough) so let us know if we can be of any help. God knows you'll need all the help you can get. :)

Man, all I've been seeing lately is people having kids and people getting pregnant, and now online too? Sheesh.

Anyway. Congratz! Remember, it's a blessing!

Although I haven't gone though that feeling within my own life, I saw my older sister go through it. She was also freaked out, but when you care as much as I am sure you will, and you surround yourself with people willing to help out when it is needed and asked for, things have a way of working out. Then, when he/she is 12-13 years old (such as my nephew now) you can't imagine your lives without them. The people around will also feel the same way, much as I do about my nephew.

Congrats man! 👍

Id be crying right now. But congratulations seeing as you want a baby even if it is arriving a bit earlier.

Thanks everyone. I guess you could say it's official. The test at the doctor's came back positive as well. They gave her some prenatal vitamins, and scheduled her an appointment at an ob/gyn.

My stomach hurts. Oh, and thanks for the text message John(MistaX), ya asshole.:D

Estimated due date of July 14 using a few online due date calculators. That's cool cause it's right around my birth date. Anyhoo, the thread title was changed...

What would you call your child?

Boy - We decided most likely, Joshua.
Girl - Haley(sp?) Elizabeth

And yes, John, it was clever. I actually laughed a bit. :)
