You can get away with S tires on some tracks, but you'll never get as many points as Ns. However you can go faster on S so it can still be fun, i sometimes use S2s on Suzuka East to see how fast i can drift round.

Have fun with it all you want, but it's not a great suggestion for a budding drifter. Click to expand... it doesn't work in GT4 because of the sub-standard physics but drifters do this in real life all the time. mixing different classes (Normals with Sports) would be a horrible idea though
