Skipped the grilled ham and cheese.

Went with the Black Angus Burger with american cheese, bacon, and pesto on a grilled kaiser bun. Side of French fires (Chips?) and cole slaw. Washed it down with a cold glass of water.

that'll keep me set until this evening when I do up the Fluke my uncle caught. A bit of fresh lemon, a splash of Corona, on a slick of real butter. Throw some asparagus with garlic and almond chips in a tinfoil wrap smother in butter, add a tad bit of salt, and throw in the oven to melt the butter and soften the sprigs. Serve with a side of mashed potatoes, and a BIG glass of milk.

I don't know if AO is a chef, but we do have a masterchef amongst our active members.

I've heard about this before. That is a bit peculiar to me. But then I don't like anything on my fries.

But that reminds me of a thing I ate a few times. When I lived in Chicago I lived in a predominantly Hispanic nieghborhood. Street vendors would wheel around these carts selling this strange delicacy: an ear of corn dipped in mayonaise and covered with grated parmesan cheese. Pretty good. Especially for $0.75.

I think Holland is one of the few countries where it is perfectly normal to put mayo on your fries instead of ketchup, together with the Dutch speaking part of Belgium.

Even if i go to Germany, they look at me as if they see water burning when i ask for some mayo instead of ketchup:D
 
Has anyone tried mayo mixed with ketchup? I do that all the time! That my friends is some good stuff!

To be honest, I've never seen 90% of Pulp Fiction, only parts, and that wasn't one. I leaned about this weirdness from an ex-girlfriend who spent time in Europe.

It is a little gross. But then so is that red goo.

In Holland a mixture of ketchup, mayonaise and onions gets thrown on practically anything.

I'm not a chef by school, I just leanred to cook in a 4 star restaraunt. I do love food, and really enjoy cooking. I'll figure out a way to grill just about anything. I've even welded a grill plate together to use on an open pit fire. Some of the tasiest steaks I've ever had, when grilled over a real wood fire.

Do a quick search for "Food thread" and take a look at some of the stuff that Boombexus makes. It had my mouth watering.

As a further note, I had mayo on my french fries today. I also prefer gravy on my fries.

Ever had ketchup and mayo together? Add some relish, and you've got "thousand Island" dressing. Yep, the Special sauce on a Big Mac.

How about tatar sauce? Does anyone like it? It just basicly mayo and relish combined. That mayo is everywhere!
 
Tartar sauce is okay on cheap, frozen fish sticks.

And I like my fries (chips) with vinegar and Coleman's mustard, washed down with a pint of Guiness.

Of course that is very different from McDonald's fries.

Us crazy dutch people kind of just drown whatever kind of food in whatever kind of sauce. Isn't that right Mischa? :D
 
Ah I got turned on to that at this "pub" in Evanston, Il way back when. I'd go after class and study over a lunch of chips drizzled in vinegar and dipped in mustard and enjoy a Guiness or two. That place was great during the gray, winter days with the peat fire and cozy atmosphere.

Ya know... the Dutch aren't really noted for their quisine, are they. Now I know why . . . lol

Niether are Americans for that matter.

If it even looks anything like sauce, we put in on our food.
We make very interesting combinations:p

But putting vinegar on our chips is too disgusting, even for us Dutch people!
