I'm itching to know what new DLC is

I got a feeling we'll eventually see classic tracks as DLC for GT5, but I think it won't be until GT6 that we see them ALL reunited under one title.

El Capitan time change/weather change, with rain to snow as it turns night time.

Lol, That's asking quite a bit don't you think. Day/night transition is good enough for me. In fact, just the track itself is good enough for me.

I don't think that's a problem. It kind of lets PD know what we're looking for. Kaz has people that search forums, GTP being the main one, to find out what we're thinking and such. The more we talk about what we want, like how badly we want Seattle with Time Change, the more likely we'll get it in the future, or sometime soon as DLC because PD has "a pool of materials" done and ready for just that.

And we see how well that worked with the last DLC, uh? Don't recall people asking for all those touring cars, or all that paint, or all those suits and helmets. Spa is the only thing I seen mentioned that got added. All I'm saying is, people make all these wish lists and such, then when they don't get what they want, half a dozen disappointment threads pop up, just was the case with the last DLC.

Anyone remember the pre-release excitement/disappointment/rage/relief rollercoaster?

Similar forces are at work.

Don't be daft, that was over a year ago. Nobody remembers. We can't be sure it even happened. That way, we can go from day to day and swallow up all the hysteria, the hype, and the latest Apple product. :p

Loved it.

Dandelions on Fuji being a firm favourite.

If KAZ and Staff are reading this thread PLEASE let us have a better functioning clutch for the G27 or power on clutched upshifts. We are really limited by this because it not only affects drifting dramatically but racing as well because some cars that turn 8 to 10,000 rpm just will not allow you to get a quick shift in without missed shift until the engine slows the rpms due to the clutch limiting that we have. It's like a transmission with bad synchros or an OLD truck or diesel semi transmission.

This one change or upgrade alone would be enough to put a huge smile on my face. It's just not realistic the way it is now.

And they divided all that up into separate packs, so you could buy what you wanted, right? ;)

I didn't ask for those Touring Cars either, but I love them. Now admittedly I'm the guy who loves making my own "race cars" out of Standard beaters like the Minis, VWs and Peugeots, and I'm not real keen on NASCAR. But my attitude is more in line with that of Gran Turismo than other people around here who want all the mega-cars on the cover of Motor Trend. Still, if there's a supercar or NASCAR pack, I'll buy it. If you don't like something though, don't assume everyone thinks the same way you do. After all, if we all lived only for the screaming edge of motorsports, there's another game that suits that gamer much better. For the rest of the world, there's Gran Turismo.

I know I said this before, but it seems a lot of people just don't get it after 11 years of GT.

@ mike

I'd love that too, but that sort of thing is really rare in any racing game. I agree though that the more realistic Gran Turismo is, the better.

How about being able to use TGTT as a drag strip, they do it in FM4 and we get to use it in liscense braking tests so what's the big idea not including it from the start, that should be free as the course is in the game at purchase, just add the parameters to use it for drag racing and acceleration testing.
PD really needs to clean up the shifting and shift limiting, also how about adding a clutch button for those who don't feel like pulling out their wheels at 3am in the morning for a quick game. Why isn't there a boost controller for turbo cars, and ability to change ECU mapping? Seriously give me the ability to turn down that transmission whine it's borderline maddening. Seriously hope that update coming addresses some issue with the clutch system, why can't I power shift?

A patch with your ideas would be the best ever!

I still don't think there even will be a DLC update. All Kaz said was:

Thanks to everyone for the messages. One year goes by quick. The next update is in the latter part of Dec., near Christmas.

All he said was update, he never mentioned DLC. So I'd just expect another patch.

Yep, it's probably just updating the last DLC so you can buy the cars in the dealership and so it works on different accounts on the same ps3. Maybe it will have the GT-86 or FR-S or BRZ whichever one. But i highly doubt it.

Say it actually is DLC; by now and if released next week the content should have been fixed I would assume ...

Last DLC head up tweets started when? Around one week before the launch?

It's about time then - or it is really just a patch ...

A patch / game update could be just as nice as DLC... depends what it is. The only thing that could not be beaten - imo - is a few classic tracks as DLC such as Brands Hatch, Bathurst, Zolder, Oulton Park...

Especially Oulton Park. The Iracing versions are brilliant.
I'll only ever buy DLC if there is at least one good track included.
I'm not really interested in any more cars, cos I've got about a million of them.

As I said in another thread, Kaz is pretty good about giving us a Christmas gift. We got GTHD on Christmas Eve for free. That was the best gift from PD yet.

As for those "classic" tracks, I'd love any and all of those, and more of course. But the real classics I'm looking forward to are the locations from all the previous Gran Turismos. I'd think I had gone to GT heaven if I could race on Red Rock Valley or Grindelwald in GT5.

Tenacious D

Grindelwald was a fantastic circuit with great undulation changes. I for one would love to have it return but it's a pity it is all but forgotten about these days.

I'd really like to see a Ferrari F50 (prefer it over the F40). I'd also like the Test Track from GT3 (wasn't sure of it was in GT4).

I want Fujimi kaido :)

The Americans have it , how come the Japanese didn't think of this ?

It's not real.

I suppose we have Mt. Aso and such, but a proper mountain road would be excellent. In fact, that (alpine?) road from the FT-86 video would do.

Anyway, if it is going to be done, it should be done properly. I think Fujimi Kaido is too wide, personally.

I want the track that starts 1:00, looks like fun track

Stelvio pass?

That would be awesome

Kaz just tweeted that info about the next update, DLC, and Christmas gift will be announced tomorrow.

He also said all that would be available next week.

Yay! Cue unbounded speculation, upping of hype, raising of expectations and dangerously high probability of waagh come next week! :p

I await the press release with positivity in my heart, honest.
