I'm restarting my profile on playing TXR3, and I want to use the paint editor to paint my Subaru Alcyone to look just like a race-modded Subaru SVX from GT2. I would just look in my PS2 at an RM'ed SVX, but I have no way of capturing images, so I won't be able to refer back to it while painting my car in TXR3. I've already exhaustively searched google images to no avail, searched a few threads here, and used the search function, all to no avail.

So, I humbly request: Will someone please post up some images of a race-modded Alcyone SVX?

Any pictures, even if blurry and from inopportune camera angles, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance, whomever helps me. :)

P.S.: I know that the SVX of GT2 is newer than the one in TXR3, but they're the same basic car and shape, and I should be able to adapt one to the other with relative ease.

You didn't say, which one do you need, the S4 version, or the standard one :) And the color - they have 3 different versions each. And which angle do you want - front or back.
So I have taken all the possible shots, hope one of them will suit :)

Sorry for being too lazy to switch all the cool NVIDIA stuff on, like anti-aliasing, but if you do need the shots in better quality, I can re-shoot using better graphics :)

Oi! Thank you for the plethora of images! I didn't think I'd recieve choices of colour or anything like that, this is excellent.

I actually thought that it would have looked much different than this, clearly I was thinking of the RM for another car. These graphics schemes are a bit more... flowing than the types I was thinking of, but I think I'll be able to do this with a bit of effort and altering. I'm doing the red paint scheme, no question.

Actually, there's one thing I can't stop laughing about: The game that I'm drawing the paint in only allows the amount of detail that GT2 delivers! Which means, I don't really need to know what those minor stickers are, I just need to emulate them!

Beautiful.

EDIT: Though, the way you phrased it, it seems like you can make this images better quality? Would it be too much to ask you to make a crisper red image? I know what I said above about universal pixelation between the two games, but I also suck at drawing and need all the help I can get. Either way, thanks for giving me the full array of images!

Here you go.
Higher resolution + NVIDIA effects.
However, I didn't change the ePSXe video plugin settings (apart from the resolution), but I think they won't change the situation significantly.

Thank you so much! I can now see the logos a bit more clearly, and the extra camera angles are a welcome addition as well. This'll help me a lot!

Funny, though, that in buying a spoiler and upsizing the wheels, that RM-ing my Alcyone in TXR3 will actually cause it to gain about 8-14kg. But, I've just unlocked a power upgrade, and now I've got a monstrous 219ps! I think this car has lowered my power standards significantly ;)

But, thanks you so much for this, and so quickly as well! I'd promise to post pics of the completed project, but... I haven't any methods to do so. :( Oh well, let's see just how badly I screw it up :dopey:

If I may ask, what does anti-aliasing actually do? Because I'm playing NFS UG 2 on my PC and in the display options there's a choice to turn it on/off. I don't know what it means, so I just turn it off. If it can make picture better I'll turn it on.

The complete screen gets smoothed when it's turned on. But obviously it makes the game run a lot slower when it's working. If you've got a powerful PC, then try setting all the options directly in the video card's program (I prefer NVIDIA videocards, but ATi's Control Center should work too) - in case of NFSU2 it changes everything. When I used to play this game, I sometimes did turn the stuff on when I wanted to make a shot or something. The game suffers a HUGE FPS falling (from 75 to 15), but the graphics look just so much better.

From personal observation - NFSU2 looks way better with AA at 800x600 resolution, than on 1024x768 without AA. I have quite old configuration - AthlonXP 2000+ with Nvidia MX440, and by the time I played it - 256 RAM, so it's a good idea on PC that crappy :) to lower the resolution and turn on some of the advanced features - the game looks way better than with higher res and no AA, fog, particles, etc.

Cool 👍 I'll try turning it on then. My PC is quite high-spec, so I don't think it'll lag too much.

I'm sorry I can't post any pictures, but the Alcyone went over suprisingly well, if oddly. The wierd pixelation of the paint editor in TXR3 meant I couldn't do some zones I wanted to do, but I managed to get it pretty well down. I replaced the flip-up headlights with some flat versions, did the 'Subaru' logo pretty well on the hood, and completely screwed up the 'SVX' logo (My 'S' sucks...). I wanted to draw a new-style grill and headlight cluster onto the car, but pixels were in short supply :(. It ended up looking like a 1980s rally car, more than the GT2 version. :)

Either way, I'm starting to tire of how incredibly... bad the Alcyone really is in this game, so I've got a new project: Starlet Glanza V. I've test-driven it, and it's great. What understeer it has, I can probably just tune out through suspension settings, and the look and feel of a Glanza is just great. I'd like to model it after a race-mod of the '98 Glanza V in GT2, and once again I humbly request a screenshot or two of it.

I can see the layout very clearly in the game, so I only need and ask for a screenshot of one side, and one of the back. I've tested it out in the paint editor, and I should be able to paint every area (except mirror and grill) the way I want to. I'm going to consider this project to be my interpretation of the GT2 Race-Mod. It doesn't matter whether the screenshots are of green or of yellow car; It'll be red when I'm done with it :).

On a GT2-related note: Yes! I finally fought my way through golding the I-B License! I really like my Del Sol LM. I was really afraid, before I saw screenshots or stats, that it would be longer and heavier than the original, but it isn't! Just a normal, small Del Sol (with a collossal wide-body kit) with the engine where it looks like it should have been in the first place: the middle. And, 620hp is more than enough to discourage hybridding to it: What would be the point? Great car, this.

EDIT: I almost forgot, (fine, I did forget) I probably won't do this until next weekend, when I have oodles of spare time and no access to my DFP (I go to my mom's house every other weekend), because the previous project, extensive as it was, took a massive 5 hours of my time to do as well as I possibly could. So, I predict that this simplistic Race-Mod would probably take around 2 and half hours to do, since I'm improving my speed as well. Basically, I'm not requesting this picture for use very soon at all. There's no urgency at all, so it's all good.

Peace.

A- Ha! I've borrowed my mum's camera, and I've arranged an impression of my Race-Modded Subaru SVX in Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3:

Do you think I did a good job of honouring it? Once you look past the disastrous image quality, I think you'll be pleasantly suprised to see that I've not made a complete hash of it. In fact, I'm really proud of it. I couldn't replace the stock body kit, but the stock one looks best and closest to GT2's RM version, so all I really did was add a spoiler, add bigger and different wheels, and swap flip-up lights for flat ones. Considering the different arrangements of various features of the modern and old SVXs, I think I've been really faithful to the layout.

But, what do you think?

Nice job 👍. Looks like you really copied the GT2 version well.

How's that Glanza going?

Thanks :)

I've actually fallen in love with my 2000GT, so I've slightly forgotten about my Glanza. I'll do it all at once, possibly tomorrow, since it allows me to calm down completely and retain my full focus. That said, Glanza seems crazily easy, even though I have figured out a way to grossly overcomplicate it. I'll go into futher detail on that last bit if I do execute it well. Besides, I'm typing in total darkness, and it's crazily hard. :scared:

It's good typing practice, though.

Haha, typing in the darkness eh? Anyway good luck with the Glanza & 2000GT. DO post a pic when you're finished :).

I'm not going to alter that beautiful 2000GT in any way. It's too beautiful as is, and I hate the TRD 2000GT appearance. It's a bit too angular to properly honour the graceful GT car.

I'll post the Starlet in this post within the weekend. No need to use a lot of posts, right?

EDIT: I'm sorry, but I just won't do this one. I don't like the Starlet much after driving my 2000GT, and I probably won't use it. Additionally, my beginnings to paint it looked terrible; something about this game doesn't like detailed Starlets. Finally, the template for the Starlet in TXR3 is assymetrical, which doubles my work (since I can't just draw it one time and copy it). So, I don't think I will. Though, the Toyota MR2 in this game is epic, so I may do a version of it's GT2 racecar, which looks nice.

But, I've got GT2-related news: I just golded license test S-10 by .717 seconds, and emitted an evil laugh which alarmed my family hugely! But, my memcard is somehow full, so I can't save the replay :(

Oh well, if I had no sense of humour, I'd've (ooh, compound contraction! Suck it?) stopped trying to gold licenses before I made any progress, even in the much-easier GT4. I've presently got 53 golds and 7 silvers in GT2.

I checked, and the Apex Corse MR-2 has a body kit just too thorough to be rendered attractively in TXR3. However, I do have a new project: EA11R RM. The engine swap system of the game allows me to have a 400hp Cappuccino capable of competing with the best, and the car is terrifyingly uncontrollable, which keeps the driving... lively. :ouch: Fun, though! :dopey: The Race-Mod bodykit of the car is tasteful, and it is in TXR3, completely identical to the GT2 kit, so nothing should go wrong. I've used an EA11R in the game before, but the only paint I did back then was a mock carbon-fibre hood scoop; not the most sophisticated endevour. This project should be interesting to attempt, since it is such a thoroughly textured sticker-job on the car. The Alcyone that I did earlier will look simplistic in comparison. If I do actually do this one, I'll definitely need to post more than two pictures for you to see all I've done to the thorough car.

So, I humbly request a handful of pictures once again: May I have a handful of screenshots of the racing-modified Suzuki Cappuccino, with the blue/white paint scheme?

I've become addicted to the unique satisfaction that I get when driving my RM Alcyone in this game, that I'm driving something truly special and unique that I built (okay, painted). That's part of the reason why I want to adapt the project to a high-level Wangan car such as the Suzuki Cappuccino (I guaruntee that's a compliment the Cappo has never recieved!), because I know that, even though the aerodynamic Alcyone is capable of high speeds with powerful engine swap, it's pretty heavy and very understeery, which won't let me use it in higher-level battles. A 400hp Kei, though (with the same engine as the engine-swapped Alcyone  ), can do basically anything as long as you be sure not to do it in the snow. :nervous:

Also, if anyone's willing to post a side-profile picture of a red or blue/white-race-mod Cappo, I'm considering using that as my new avatar, and changing my User Title to 'Capcino.' :) :sly: I do love my current real-life 120hp Cappuccino (1/4 mile in high 12's!) and my lollercoaster slogan, but it's time I mature and reference a glorious GT-esque quirk. I still idolize whomever it is that has Pontiac's "GTP Supercharged" emblem as their avatar; Is that not made of absolute win?

Well, thanks for reading, and a good day to you all. Till next time,

:)

yummy! makes me want to paint my real one that way...

and the Alcyone doesn't suck in the game.... it isn't a great starter car as it takes money and unlocked mods to make it fast enough....

I don't think it sucks at all. I think it needs work though, to get it comepetitve against Vipers and RUFs and such. I actually wrote about the SVX/Alcyone here...

Don't take the first paragraph so seriously, please; I was being sarcastic.
