Well thanks to the good people at Discount Tire I will be getting brand new tires on Monday. Michellen Hydroedge in 235/60/16 with a life time warrenty and their Road Hazard program, along with install I'm looking at 600 bucks. Thats not all that bad considering Bell Tire wanted 800 bucks for the same ones.

I'll be giving a full review on the tires come monday, I have a feeling they will be awesome since every site had rated them one of the best passenger tire on the market. And the cool thing is, it's going to rain monday :D. So I really get to test these things out.

Just thought I'd share since I've been b!tching about my tires since I bought my truck over a year ago and I've made countless thread asking for assisstance.

Well I didn't really pick em for the look, more of there function. But since you asked, my truck will be going down in the spring. I've already made up my mind on that, I just need to learn a little more about how to do it.

I'm also looking at some new rims, still 16's since I hate large rims.

Integra Type R
Are you going to properly dispose of the old tires?! :D
You have to now, at it costs you money. The day of throwing them with the rest of the garbage is now over.

It shouldn't cost you money anymore, now there are tire recycling centers that will pay for tires. Think about it, you pay a tire dealer for your tire to be discarded, and then they get more money by selling it to somebody else.

By properly disposing I hope you mean going to a big empty parking lot and pulling donut after donut, along with burout after burn out. Cause if thats what you mean then the answer is yes.

If you mean am I going to throw them out into the trash? Well while the environment isn't something I care about all that much, I don't want to make it any worse then I have to. So yes I will be recycling them.

Yo Joe!
Have you checked out Godfather's customs, or Stylin Conepts for the drop?

I should be getting my Ranger at the end of next week and I've been looking into all sorts of things.

All the "serious" drops (laying frame) have a lot of serious work involved.
Are you going full show, and thus frame-draggin' air-bagged ride?
Or are you going with a 3/4 or 4/5 drop so you can still drive it daily?

I think there are quite a few manufacturers of something (spindles, and flip kit) for the Chevy.
You should be able to do the whole thing this way for right around $1,000 including the Toxic Drop shocks.

Good luck on the project.

Hey Gil

Thats sweet! Your getting in to the mini truckin crowd. For a drop I'm looking at Belltech since they make a for the Xtreme which gives it another 2/3 drop. So drivinig in the snow will be fine.

Thats what it will look like with a 2/3 drop on it. Thats a buddy of mines truck. I must say I like the roll pan.

I'd love bags, but I don't have the knowledge to do it my self. Since I would want a 4 or 6 link rear suspension. I hate getting stuff installed on my truck, I don't trust some companies. So I plan on dropping the truck myself. I think I can figure it out.

For shocks, I have some nice Blistiens on there right now, but I hear Toxic is the way to go when you get low.

Keep me up to date Gil on the progress of your truck, if you need help on know what to get I can give you hand. Oh ya I'd like to see pics to...you need a cardomain page!

So lifetime warrenty? Are they suppost to last long then? Are they hard compound tires?

To tell you the truth, I'm not really sure. I can't remember what the discount tire guy told me about the tread life. But if they blow out, then I get a new tire for free which is nice.

I'd be interested to know how they offer a lifetime warranty on a part that is certainly not going to last that long. Same with lifetime brake pads that Midas advertises... no brake pads last for the lifetime of the car. Are they banking on you getting rid of the car before it needs new ones? Is there some catch about normal wear not being included?

Its the life time of the part. So its a life time warrenty of a tire would be until the tire wears out.

They account for normal wear and tear - that isn't included. But if a tyre blows out (or a brake pad fails) then they'll replace it for free.

Soman
lol I thought you were talking about a different kind of rubber....thought she was going to be going on the pill....

ROTFLMAO!!!!1 AHAHAHAHAAH!

but yeah, blazin...what size rims are on that white truck? because i think they are way too small....it makes the truck look topheavy and stuff.

That's exactly what I meant. :D

Any chance of a nice little video?! :D

I hope there wouldn't be a little me...hell thats scary.

On the white truck those are 16's but he now has 20's on it.

I tried ordering some 315/35/17 Nitto NT555R Drag Radials from Discount Tire the other day, but everyone of their warehouses is out of stock. Apparently the nitto drag radials in the 315/35/17 size are on a national backorder. Eitherway, I just ordered a set from Online Tires. $400+ for 2 god damn tires. I'll probably get a call in a few days telling me they're on national backorder, and I have to wait 3 months for them - at which point I'll tell them to **** off, and give me 100% of my money back, or I'll dispute the charges on my CC.

Well I put the tires to rest, I pulled a few dounuts and one good burnout. Hell to be honest I tried to drift. Which isn't easy in the Blazer, but I manged to slide it side ways laying down quite a bit of rubber.

So I put 15,000 miles on my tires in about 5 minutes.

I just got some Dayton Daytona ZRs to replace the bald ones out back on my 240. 215/40/ZR17. Decent enough, but not as good as my Falken GR-Betas, which cost the same, $120 each.

Power oversteer? :D

Well I got the new tires put on today.

First off they look really nice on my truck, gives it a sporty look. Second the noise quialty is great, very quite tires. Third and finally, the performance is much better, great response in the corners.

I can't wait til it rains, I want to try them out.

There we go, here is what they look like on the truck.

err...I have the slight problem with brushing the curb so white walls woulda turned ugly very fast.

So now your Xtreme's black?

Anyways, they're mean looking. But I still like riased letters. Where can I get those Goodyear Eagles featured on the Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS Jeff Gordon Signature Series, Tony Stewart Supercharged Signature Series, Dale Earnhardt Intimidator and Dale Earnhardt Jr. Signature Series?

My Xtreme has been black since I bought it, I want to paint it but I'm broke.

I'd just go anywhere that sells Goodyear tires like Discount Tire or Bell Tire. Or try www.tirerack.com or www.tires.com

But I thought your old Xtreme avatar was blue :odd:

Edit: They're Eagle RS-A's and they look like this on the standard SS:
gy_eagle_rs_a.jpg

But, the ones on the Signature Series/Intimidator SS's have Goodyear on one side and Eagle on the other, in yellow writing, like so:
