It's must be a language thing (I presume english is not your primary language), becuase what you said was pretty much an insult to the OP in my book.

No I'm not too sensitive at all I just REALLY dislike insensitive people.
 
I have to admit I started doing back ups when one of my friends crashed his save data...
he of course had no back up...lol
 
I have to agree with ZeGermanBastorD. Ten seconds to backup your data and you're done. Easiest thing to avoid an unwanted data lost.
 
I read this thread and it made me go buy a USB stick. Now I'm secured! Ahh, peace of mind...:)

Or take the hdd out of the PS3 and try to get the save game file back using a data recovery program. That is what i would try.

Data recovery wont be able to read the files due to the encryption used.
 
Excuse my ignorance, but, how does so many people these days manage to lose their game data so easily? In 10 years of gaming, I've never made a backup, and never lost anything. People need to be more careful with when they turn off their consoles.

Another post wich doesn't help at all, it doesn't seem ruthless but disrespectfull.

@ op: Sorry for you mate, hopefully you'll find a answer that IS useful, i'm curious my self.
Have you had contact with Sonny or PD, i tried contacting sony and they won't answer UNLESS i use a pc -wich i don't have- Stuff like this is bad advertisement for PS3, i buy console pure for ease of use, this problem shouldn't happen on them.
