AHHHH! I'm so *****ng pissed at my brothers, they always take out my GT3 game and leave it somewhere; Well geuss what, there is a huge scratch in it now and every thing on the game works except for the racing part! It goes to the balck screen where the little white box in the upper left hand corner is blinking and stays there forever. GOD! I'm ssssoooo mad. Does anybody know what I should do? I can't return the game, I bought it when it first came out! I can't buy another copy cause i'm broke. I geuss im out of Gran Turismo till GT4 comes out. D*mn!

Here's the damage...

Tip, the first: Stop swearing. It's a good way to attract moderator attention. I understand that you are a little on the upset side, but even so.

Tip, the second: Try cleaning the disc with proprietary disc cleaner. Failing that, toothpaste. Read the instructions (not on the toothpaste - that wouldn't help much).

Tip, the third: Try eBay. I've seen GT3 going for £5 including P&P.

I say scoure the streets for change. GT3's down to $27 USD now isn't it?

Download free porn from limewire, that should keep you going until December, hell you might even miss December all together.

Hold on guys, Ill try to get a good picture in a little while.

Picture? What of?

My guess would be, a picture of the scratch. [edit] He posted pretty quick[/edit]

Too late, he's already caught my attention.

You can find a used GT3 copy at many game stores for $10-$15 (us). Not tough to replace one.

harhar..

gt3 is now only like.. 20 bucks in US.
get used CD, cheaper...

wait for GT4 and get your brothers to pay for it or get them to pay 2/3rd's of the cost. :trouble:

I didn't actually buy GT3 until about 2 weeks ago, and I paid $7 for a used copy.

Use a Skipdoctor repair device, it'll scour off all the little surface scratches, makes the disk surface look like ****, but the laser focuses past the surface onto the back of the disk anyway so it doesn't matter. Kind of like how you can still see well through a pair of glasses that have a scratch, your eyes are focused beyond where the scratch is, and hence you don't see it. ;)
Most good video rental stores nowadays offer a disk repair service for 2 or 3 bucks per disc using this type of method, that should be within your budget. 👍

This is why toothpaste also works, its a very fine abrasive paste, which will remove the scratches. Its the circumferential scratches 👎 that will cause the disc to skip, not the radial ones. The worst possible thing that can happen though is if the disc is scratched on the label side, as the playing surface is on the back of the label. If its scratched, your going to have to buy a new copy. 👎

thats to bad man, if you live in my area, there is a videogame store that fixes cratches disc, all good as new, for only 5 bucks

One thing that won't work is more swearing...

I got my second gt3 around 6 months ago and it was used, it cost me 10$ at gamestop right now its probably even cheaper. Just buy the game used instead of using cleaners!!!

I got my new copy of GT3 last year for $20, and they still stock it, so it should be easy enough to get a new copy if you can't clean it up. And get your brothers to pay for it, seeing as they're the ones who caused the damage.

yea, if you say you bought your copy for $7 then it won't be too hard to find another used copy

same thing happened 2 me dude, my got scratched and destroyed, but i picked another copy up yesterday for like £7... so it aint to expensive for a used copy

Come on, do we really need to hear about your scratched disk?

are you talkin 2 me or the dude who posted this thread lol, cause if it was directed at me i was just puttin my point across

gamestop,Eb games, fye ,e-bay all good place to get them for $7-$19.95. 19.95 is at store like k-mart etc. What kind of toothpaste.will Colgate 2in1icy blast work? I'm asking this because the toothpaste has little blue mouthwash crystals that might mess the cd up more.

Better yet. Make your brothers buy you a new copy, then don't ever let them play it again. Ahhhh That's why I love being the only child still living at home.
