You don't like it because it's more powerful, much more reliable, and has a better powerband than the ****** dorito-in-a-box that Mazda put in there?

Noooooo I just like that dorito engine more then the LS1.. :dopey: I would love a 300bhp dorito more then a 800bhp or so LS1 in the RX-7.

Stock, gunmetal R32 on bronze 28Ns, with AP Racing/slotted disc brakes?

Call 911, just had heart attack.

You are not the only one :indiff:

Imported R32/33/34s in US were declared to be illegal recently. All GTRs will be crushed or kicked out of the states. Really bad news for GTR owners..

Very much aware of it. Local owner had his R32 shipped north out of the country for the next 3 years.

Because Japanese cars do not meet crash US crash standards. A lot must be done to make them legal by US standards, and most people are in the habit of getting around these restrictions by labeling them as a kit cars or such. If a Skyline is fully modded to bring it into US compliance, there isn't much the government can do.

Of course, this mostly applies to states that have stricter inspection laws, such as California. I imagine it would be easier to leave it as a kit car in states/counties that do not have smog inspections.

I believe it was also why Motorex was shutdown also. They only crashed test the R33 but not the R32/34.

All that, plus someone high up is pissed off about the vehicles in general. Someone wants anything Skyline related out of the states for good

Did you actually read anything that we just discussed, or do you just want to blame Big Brother for what is more the mistake of shady importers?

And what if you fit it with rollcage and that kind of stuff? I remember seeing lot a street (almost race cars) in Miami.. Fully modded 360's, no airbags, no standard safety things actually.

I did, and I read an article explaining the problems. Said shady importers said that the other R models were 'very similar' to get away with crash testing the others

There are also issues of shady importers bringing over mostly stolen cars. That is what has caused the temporary bans of RHD cars in Canada, when some minor investigation revealed that a good deal of cars brought over from Japan were likely stolen. Until that, anything older than 15 years of age was cleared for importation and only required regular registration inspections, which are a cake walk.

-edit- that Mr.S is just tasty. Lovin' the yellow eyes, and it's all business out the back.
