There were a small number of Type-R integras sold in Canada, which I presume must have been left hand drive and I'm pretty sure the US market received some Type-Rs with a different engine.

My first thought also though was that it was an Acura Type-R with a swapped front end. I'd say that's a legitimate Type-R, even if it's a bit of a mongrel. It had the right engine didn't it, at the very least?

Yeah, we got the same engine and transmission as the pre-facelift DC2 ITR. The later JDM years got a power upgrade with 17 inch wheels and whatnot but they stopped selling them here before that.

While I personally think the JDM front does look better, If I owned one I wouldn't spend on the money on the conversion. I heart bugeyes.

Speaking of conversions, the other day in Cincinnati I saw a Civic with the Canadian front end on it. The car was super trashy looking. I guess he spent all his money no the conversion!

Not sure if I'd want to take a legit Acura Integra Type R and hack it up to make it into a Honda. It's already rare in itself, I think I'd rather do that to a regular Integra, and probably have less money in it.

I like the car though.

The bugeyes Type-R were also sold in Europe, left hand drive. I think it's safe to say the guy did a conversion.. I see it's 5-lug and if I remeber correctly the European version were only sold with 5-lug.. (Wich is the same as the US/Can version but you have them with the Acura badge..). The JDM version were sold with 4-lug till 1998. Don't know if it's a B18C4 or C6 but if it's a C6, he did the conversion.

The bugeyes were also sold in the UK in right-hand drive too. I think they very briefly sold that front end in Japan but it wasn't as popular. Was on sale officially in the UK for a good few years though.

Well they also used the bug eye front end of Integra Si-VTECs in Japan as well.

he basically took an average tow behind trailer and mounted the axle on top and mounted to extra BBS RS's that he had on it. it's a trailer with aggressive fitment.

Most of those were imports if you consider imports anything out of the US and there were definitely more than 2 Japanese cars in the page. I do sort of agree that some of the pics look like they belong there instead of here but I'm not complaining, I still like the pics.

I'm surprised I didn't get complaints about dropping in a couple american cars. I guess "mean" is what people call racecar engineering now-a-days. And since when does the word "imports" only apply to Japanese cars?

I think what he may be getting at is that this thread is generally for modified street cars, not race cars.

Either way, the "Porsche" is a Ruf CTR3.
