It's kind of a fine line, but the difference is whether you're running a stretched tire to make the tire fit under the fenders, or if you're running really big tires, and then simply running a rim that's slightly wider, as in the case of the Cyber Evo.

The Cyber Evo is a totally mental car. I think they've got it just right... there's just a tiny bit of stretch... just enough to firm up the sidewall without compromising the bead or structural integrity of the tire, as many stretches do... actually... I'd call it (and yours) perfect tire-rim fitment.

:odd:

You need to get your priorities straight son. I'd rather have an old LT-1 than a Ford Modular any day.

I can procure a 4.6 DOHC for free pretty much any day of the week.

Then ~1-2 grand in rotating assembly. Set.

I will say that SOHC 4.6s are pointless though.

A butt?

BTW that 7L V8 and Porsche trans axle weigh 35lbs less than the stock drivetrain.

Easy now, don't forget the importance of keeping that mass as close to the center of the car and as low as possible, in which case the boxer engine does a better job.

I was talking about the NSX.

But the intakes on the LS motors are very light weight, and for the 996 LS swap they moved all the accessories down low to offset the increased weight up top.

I usually don't like Bentley wheels on other cars but this one looks pretty good:

I saw that earlier today, that is ridiculous steering angle.

I don't know how much it helps though, there's guys already doing over 90 degree entries with less steering angle than that. They just have the suspensions set up to have little grip at full lock so the front tires can just slide.

EDIT: Why is it stupid? Just because you can turn that much, doesn't mean you have to. The car still probably has an awesome quick steering rack as a result of that modification.

I think(hope) he means all the missing body panels in which case his post can be completely ignored.

Meh. Remove bumper, run into things like rubber tires and hay, replace bumper - still have something that looks like a car at the end of the day.

I don't see why people do it on strictly track cars that nobody really sees except on the track, but I can definitely see why people do it for street cars.

He probably means the fact that it's drifting. Like all members here on GT Planet who loathe drifting and anything that has anything to do with too much wheelspin

Somebody already pointed out that the LS swap is 35 pounds lighter than the stock drivetrain. I love the original engine too, and I love the NSX in general, but let's be honest, the car needs more balls. The chassis is capable way beyond the little pea shooter is had stock. If any car actually needs a mighty V8 to be competitive, it's an NSX.

Psssh.

Nothing a few mods couldn't do.

No, I like drifting, but I kinda dislike purpose built drift cars..

Ditto. The way I see it, drifting is like getting drunk.

Great fun, but taking it seriously, getting competitive and spending lots of time, effort, and money is going a bit too far.

Taking it seriously and spending lots of time, effort and money into something is not a bad thing, but I don't think it was a good thing to make drifting a competition.

I think they were talking about the Porsche Flat 6 being 35lbs heavier. The Honda V6 is already compact, small and aluminum, there's no way an LS7 is going to be lighter.

But the balls the LS7 provides would be awesome for the NSX

A LS7 weighs about 458lbs. dressed up. A C30A is around 420-430lbs. if my memory serves correct.

Yeah I was talking about the NSX. That's the fact I got off the build thread page blog thing anyways. The difference could be down to the weight of the transaxle.

Any one have more pictures of the blue 370Z?

^Agreed. I love the photographer's style. The GT-R/370Z picture looks like something right out of Hot Pursuit. 👍
Edit* Shame he doesn't seem to have much more under his portfolio than the 370Z. :/
