Sweet mother of God, this is the most epic MR2 ever!

[/MRS-fanboism]

But seriously, this is the sweetest looking MR2 I've ever seen

MR2 is sexy.

It's just surface rust. You can get that by exposing bare metal to unconditioned air for a few days.

You can even laquer it after a few days outside, to prevent it from spreading. A local dude painted the 'bay and interior on his Mk1, then sanded off the paint. The car was a bit of a piss-take actually, the people doing rust-look to stand out and 'be different' have missed the point as it's nothing else than ruining OG paint and making your car tie in with the sheep mentality of trends.
Yeah, I think the E28 looks good, but it would've looked better without the 'rat' pieces. Rat was the most stupid word of '06/'07 and why it's still with us is a mystery.

Local dude's car (those are BWA 13s):

 @ the licence plate...

I'm not a fan of the Golf above but personally I quite liked the 5-series with the rusty bonnet, it's very different to any other 5 I've seen so it gets the thumbs up from me.

I have to say though, the rat look works better on motorcycles. On most cars it looks like it's just been neglected. Having said that, this looks awesome, IMO:

Though I do like cleaner ones too...

is it ok if its my DD/race car? :sly:

I had the pipe break off at the cat on my 4A-C'd Nova. The aural assault at 40 MPH was absolutely dreadful, the entire car resonating and making it worse. Hateful, hateful speed.

RAcer, fine, but on the street...well, get used to wearing earplugs.

By the way...FWD LOL...Brilliant plate.

well the exhaust on an MR2 consists of about a foot of pipe from the header to the cat and then a muffler. The SCCA rule book says I'm allowed to modify the exhaust after the cat so I might as well not run a muffler to save wight. If I could have a full system made up I'd ditch the cat and run a straight pipe but that would place me in a different class.

Hm...good point. You have all the exhaust behind the engine compartment, where, when the pipe broke on my car, it exited right under where I was sitting.
