Basically, it seems to be one model below the JDM SiR II (which in turn was the next highest performing after the Type R). The Vi-Rs has a three-stage VTEC engine designated D15Z7 as in the Vi, and all the RS seems to mean are the extra aero bits, fancy grill, interior trim and some nice wheels (the standard model has the same wheels as the VTi/Si EM coupes available in some other markets, as you can see from that brochure excerpt).

It also appears to have a sort of performance CVT transmission, which marks it out as being quite different from other performance Civics.

I just found a recent posting where he shows of their new color...

I'm torn. It may actually look better in black, but I can't remember the last time I've seen a red on red car. I vote red for the uniqueness.

Red on red looks pretty cool actually. Though I think I prefer red on black. And I prefer red on white slightly more than that. I like Integras in general though to be honest. I'm pretty sure they get better looking with age.

And that Element is badass.

Not so keen on the M3 above. It's obviously a well-designed track machine (and look at the size of the front rotors!) but the bolted-on wheelarch and spoiler as high as the roof look doesn't do it for me. I think I'm more of a CLS II man, despite the dubious front bumper.

I spoke to that guy once, his fronts poked way too much and I think he was going to re-build the wheels.. Look at these, same stuff but more though-out offsets

Meh, I'm still just not big on camber/belly scraping ride heights. Though those cars certainly work better than the one further up. And I've always liked that shade of green on Civics.

I learned to drive in one of these when I was 10. Damn, I miss this thing.
My father's was a dark blue one with orange pinstripes, one of the few around with that colour scheme.

I've been searching for years to get one, but the only ones around in decent condition are way too expensive for me.
