I like that red on red... Don't see it very often, but I think he pulled it off.
I'll be honest - there's times when I tire of the constant offload of E30s and E36s as well.
Best info I can find is here: http://world.honda.com/news/1998/4980903.html
Basically, it seems to be one model below the JDM SiR II (which in turn was the next highest performing after the Type R). The Vi-Rs has a three-stage VTEC engine designated D15Z7 as in the Vi, and all the RS seems to mean are the extra aero bits, fancy grill, interior trim and some nice wheels (the standard model has the same wheels as the VTi/Si EM coupes available in some other markets, as you can see from that brochure excerpt).
It also appears to have a sort of performance CVT transmission, which marks it out as being quite different from other performance Civics.
So there you go!
R.oad S.ailing.
I just found a recent posting where he shows of their new color...
Save for the stretched tyres and dodgy camber, that looks okay.
hawtI spoke to that guy once, his fronts poked way too much and I think he was going to re-build the wheels.. Look at these, same stuff but more though-out offsets

Not so much a fan of the colour, it clashes with the rims to. The actual bodywork it's however I do like, just in need of a paint job.
I love the color! Its original and not what everyone else does... Everything doesn't need to be black guys...

I agree, the color is strange...
There is no color. It's clearcoated gold-tinted carbon fiber.I love the color!

The front splitter and canards are carbon-kevlar and various other bits may be, but all the body panels look like carbon fiber.
