It would be nice if we had a list of the challenges that are impossible on pro physics.
1. A-3 BMW M3 @ Eiger reverse: Gold Impossible. Rumors of Silver
I totally agree with #1 being difficult... not sure about "impossible". It's necessary to be
very ginger on the gas coming out of the apex of the longer turns, or you'll be going sideways. And if one of the more grippy AI cars taps you from behind, well, try again next lap.
With pro physics, all aids off, manual transmission (clutch enabled) and "simulation" setting for the G25 wheel in options, I was able to squeak out about 1:19 after several failed attempts. It is definitely
not easy, and definitely
not pretty enough to post on YouTube.
I've used these settings from race #1 in GT5P. Just for kicks, I turned the assists back on and went with standard physics (first time for everything). It was more or less impossible to oversteer, and the whole thing felt very numb. Not nearly as much fun. But I did get the Silver time on lap #2, and was sneaking up on Gold by the end of the 10 minutes.
However, an actual BMW M3 has plenty of assist features built in (which can be disabled, as well), so, Pro physics aside, I wonder if turning off all assists for this car is really a fair simulation or not?
