Not sure if this has been discussed, a search didn't lead me to any obvious threads on the topic.

I've been using the Impreza RM with the cockpit view at the 'ring, and while I think this is one of the best cars in the game, the interior view lets the car down - for some reason it feels like you are sitting too high in the car - possbily because it appears as though the window is half covered at the top in vinyl. This really restricts the long distance viewing of the track, especially when you are coming into a long uphill section (especially from a downhill dip.)

I've tried going through the in-game options to see if there is a way adjust the viewpoint within the cockpit view, but there appears to be none. I wanted to make sure that this is indeed the case and I'm not missing something obvious to correct the issue.

Any pointers / way to solve this? :boggled:

I think so, but I'll revisit it and see if I missed it (and see if it eleminates the issue).

Thanks.

i agree i loved this car, then Race modded it and now hardly drive it because i cant see.

I noticed this too, did a check for existing threads but nothing, so glad I'm not the only one to be annoyed by this. I liked this RM'd car until I saw the awful restricted view from inside. Which made me spray it the worst paint colour I had as a reminder to stay away from it hehe.
Like you say, the issue is the vinyl sticker on the windscreen. If you look at the the Gran-Turismo sticker on the outside, it's fine: it's at a reasonable height. But if you look at the inside of the windscreen, there seems to be another plain sticker that's been modelled too low and doesn't line up with the outside one. This is what obscures the view - the inside sticker.
I'm pretty sure it's just a modelling error that could be fixed, and should be fixed. They put so much effort into the car interiors and want us to enjoy the cockpit view, would be a waste to not fix it :)

It's only because that's how rally cars are actually made, a huge strip over the top part of the windshield to keep the glare of the sun out of your eyes. If it's that much of a bother, switch to roof view.

Excellent idea! Because that's how people drive: Sitting on the roof :p

And is it only the Subaru that has issues with sunlight? because I'm sure ALL of the other race cars, rally or otherwise, don't have a badly placed window vinyl.

Point is, I don't want to use the roof view, I want to use the cockpit view!

Which subaru is RM? I have the new WRX (I think 2010), I don't think it's race modifiable. But would really like a reliable rally car...

Its the Spec-C model that you can convert with the RM. Its still a great car worth getting, just accept the interior view isn't brilliant.

If it is a modelling error on the car as suggested by TheLoveNinja (I believe him to be correct) then hopefully it can be patched. Now where is that contact email address for PD.....?

It's a fantastic car, grippy as hell. It is definately my favourite car for the Eiger Norwand short circuit..just a shame about the rubbish cockpit view!
Less cars, more detail i say..800 cars is still a lot!

Not really tried the Scooby RM however I dont have any issues with the other RM cars however I find all the WRC cars have this issue, I guess its a rally thing as the Evo RM is a track car and its fine however the RM scooby is a Rally RM as apposed to a track car

Citroën C4 WRC '08, especially, suffers from vinyl sticker blinder syndrome.
