I was quite clearly and reasonably pointing out that it has nothing to do with whether or not PD has the resources. The fact is they are dealing with a vastly more diluted gene pool of gamers and racers. And thus no matter how much they try there will always be problems due to that.
Whereas iRacing may have less resources but they also have a far more focused user group and it will therefore be a lot easier to say their system works as intended. Let's try throwing the amount and variation of people playing GTsport at iRacing and see what happens.
And I will quite clearly and reasonably point out that anyone who has played through the beginner levels in iRacing knows that there are just as many punters, proportionally, that sign up for iRacing as anywhere else. Try a few Miata races and you'll see carnage left, right and centre. What they do take a more serious approach to progressing through the game in order to sort that all out before you get to the higher levels by restricting progress and access to content until you bring your safety rating up to acceptable levels. iRacing faces the same problems as GTS, they just do a far better job of sorting it out.

Have a gander at some highlights of an ISR Rookie race and tell me where this looks like a much more focused pool of racers:

Well, then it would make sense if PD had managed to deliver a *better* system than iRacing, rather than the other way around. Right?

Have we been playing the same title? Even in SR:S, the frequency of dirty tactics is appalling. It is a very rare race where I do not witness at least one move that is deliberate and would have resulted in stern penalties in RL.

Frankly, your post sounds more like you are trying to convince yourself GTS is delivering.

Not at all - I find GTS delivers for me when I play it. Like I said in my post, I don't get to play countless hours, so when I do, I enjoy being able to get into a race with 12-18 other people with minimal delay and be competitive with those I'm put against. If GTS wasn't delivering for me, I would be as perfectly honest about as I was in my original post - I've nothing to gain or lost by stating my opinion.

I've certainly had minimal issues with people deliberately crashing into others - I've just spent time today playing the GR.3 daily and in four races I saw a few accidents in the mid pack, but nothing I would class as malicious.

BoP - I cannot see how it would ever be possible to have a completely even matching of cars across Front/Rear/All wheel drive and still allow each to have its own handling characteristics. Yes, we have a GR.4 issue at the moment with the FWD cars, I expect this will get resolved and replaced by the next slightly quicker car in the pack. In the races I've been in in GR.3, I don't recall seeing one car dominating (otherwise 90% of the entrants would be using it, ala Megane and Scirocco in GR.4).

Thanks for replying to my comment. I respect your opinion and can only lament that your experience is different than mine.

Edit: Just noticed a few of my messages in this thread have gone missing. Interesting.

No problem, I appreciate for those who can devote more time to the game may find its shortcomings a problem, family commitments and a 2 and a half hour daily commute mean I probably only absorb the bits of the game I need to without missing anything that could have been included.

Most of the online has been a very, very poor experience for me. For the first few weeks it appeared that people were really respecting the iRacing SR/DR racing style. Unfortunately that hasn't lasted, and it's just a crash fest now. Crash fests are bad enough in games, but throw in the awful penalty system, where the innocent are almost always penalised, and it's beyond frustrating. There's almost always one wrecker per race and if there's not there's enough bad racers that it's impossible to have a good race unless you have a wheel.

I have done over 40 online races now and have NEVER experienced a crash fest.
