I've got to be honest here. I really don't think much of the new way of doing the Seasonals as compared to the old, but they do have their good points.

For one, as I get into the higher level races, I find myself actually enjoying the lower level races more and more. I really don't want to spend four hours on some endurance race and I think the Extreme level races are going to be about as far as I go on A Spec, at least. It's good to have a nice uncomplicated race once in a while.

As for the money, if you're not rich by this point, give it up. If you are at extreme level and can't buy any car you need, then what the hell have you been doing all this time? Even still, I can pretty much bet for whatever high speed wonder car you are crying about not having, there is a car (Ferrari F1's notwithstanding) that is more affordable and can do the job better.

It's kind of nice too, not to have to go out and buy a specific car and trick it out just for one race. Anyone want a deal on a used Volvo C30 or a Schwimmwagen? I have both and nothing to do with them now...

I think the major disappointment here is the easy money for the races and that's all. Get over it and just go have some fun with it already....

I liked the way to be able to race in cars I'd never have bought otherwise (as the races paid the cars many times). The extra money was a good thing too.

The old seasonals were far better and more challenging than these.

I don't understand your point. With the old seasonals you could buy the car required........ even fully tune it if you wanted....... and still make vastly more money than you put into the car. So even being left with a "useless car" you still have more money than you started with.

Now you are expected to buy a 10mil credit car in order to win 300k from 3 races.

You can race the new seasonal events as many times as you want, so $300k is the MINIMUM you will get by winning all 3 races. How many races in Aspec can you get "all the money you invested in the car?" Seasonal events is mainly to add more game play, not make you rich/broke. Too much complaining about the "extra" content that PD/Sony are providing.

Here's an idea, let's keep complaining about all the bonus stuff they are giving us so much to the point where they just "quit." Be thankful, not ungrateful.

The game shipped 1/2 finished. At least the content they add could be worth my time.

Look at the back of your box. 1/2 the features are still not in the game yet.

Unless I missed matchmaking somewhere.

Has anyone else got to the point where there is not much to do on gt campaign? Due to the lack of credits to be won on season event 7 i have been doing nothing but practice mode.I have been doing the same race over and over again just to get credits.season event 8 needs to have more credits at stake else I shall be lost with what to do.my psn I'd is smiggi1991 so add me.I have lots of rare cars and I am willing to do some trading if needed.add me guys

I like this new format I can use cars that I have gained that are not usable in a spec events or that I used a different car for, some amazing cars getting some use finally, should be more hp classes next time. I have all the rares (that I wanted, missing some lmp/group C but meh) and at 500 cars so its all just driving from here :)

Untrue. The high end races made you a nice tidy profit, but the lower end races only got you about $100k-$250k. Not nearly enough.

I still dont like the new seasonals just for the fact that there is no tuning restrictions.

I'm like water and will always look for the easiest path.

Although it pains me to say it, I cant not tune my car to the max for races. I know i'm only cheating myself when I do but I cant help it.

I need to be made to use stock to use it. I need to be told not to over tune for restraint and need to be reminded to wipe after having poo (maybe I just shared too much)

My overall point is that I am my own worst enemy when it comes to the seasonals and make them far too easy for myself.

I don't mind them that much. It's added content. More races with different cars. I'm getting enjoyment from them.

I like them.

They are more a-spec races where the challenge is defined by the player. You can rip through them in a hour or spends weeks with an underpowered car.

I'm taking the underpowered car option which is vastly improving my circuit knowlegde and wheel skill.

250k + a car you can either keep or sell for 10mins work..............

Don't think there is anything else in the game that pays close to that. And as you said that is for the lowest event........ all the others pay more. Especially if you have the car you need in your garage already.

It was said before, it gets a bit old racing the 600+hp cars and it is fun to drive a lower powered car. The payout isn't great, but the racing is more fun. Personally I cant hop in an F1 car and race MX-5s or C4s. Its just not fun, but I wish the payout was larger...

I really didn't mind doing the races themselves, but i wish they had the old Seasonal events, because im at level 35, and i really need the xp, and i am not doing the endurances, until they update with in-race save.

👍 Couldn't agree more I have a child and a job tough to get time to do a 2 hour race never mind 24 hrs, also I blew 20 mill on the ferrari 330, hoping to rebuild my credits through the seasonals.

I would get $2-3 million and then go on a shopping spree and buy like 10 premium car's and a couple standards.
Not thinking ahead to the day when i might need those Ferrari F1's, my fault.

Why defend them? If people can't take the initiative to use common sense and take a lower powered automobile into the race, that's their personal problem.

Additionally, I don't see how earning XP and Credits is a waste of time, when posting about how it's not isn't.

....

Drag racing corvettes and vipers. Turns out the corvette is faster in a straight line.
Back on topic the new races are more fun I think because you can use whatever car you want. I used a Mazda Axela for one race. That car is almost silent in low revs

I don't care much about the lack of money...its the lack of XP that pisses me off. I want to rank up (legit) to unlock the 24hr races, but there is no way in hell I'm going to grind away to do it.

Agreed on the XP 👍

I'm not rich. Why should I give up? :odd:

PD totally wreck learning curve and incomes. Rich seasonal races was their way to fix the second.

:) Honestly, the only way to collect all cars is making money. In GT4 it's enjoyable: just race the car you like whatever you can. When bored with that car, just change it. Race, championship prizes and selling won cars was the way to do it.

In GT5, most of the people have to grind boring races, or cheat. Or, as I'm doing, waiting for better times and using collected (from bonus #1-6) millions in low level standard cars.

Just to be clear, I'm not really too hot on the new seasonals, but they're not the catastrophe everybody is making them out to be. People just got spoiled by the big money and big experience. It's sticker shock, that's all...

They should make more events in the expert and proffesional series.

Quite frankly, the Ferrari races got me interested again. I was starting to get bored...and lazy - to grind away to unlock more endurance races in A Spec. It was pretty intense after 2 weeks off the game. Enjoyed the races a lot, especially with a grande caramel machiatto. LOL

most money i've ever had was 10.5 mil and i usually sit at 1.9 - 3 mil. I buy and tune alot of cars I dont really care for the cars that cost millions because you win most of them thru events. I liked the old seasonals much better, it brought balance to the exp system.

although I am another who preferred the seasonals 1 & 2, I'm finding the latest set quite fun in that I'm getting to use some lower powered cars that I've bought that I haven't used before

I started a new account tonight to try and get a GT Academy 370Z from a level 12 gift ticket, it would have taken much longer without the seasonals... That said, I'm sure the old seasonals would have benefitted me much more, so whatever. The old seasonals were a bit much, though, all that money for basically no work at all.

Edit: Totally agreeing with most people on the huge lack of XP, though, I read somewhere that level 37 is the half way point... What a joke!

I echo the same frustrations as many others...I'm level 31 and I really want to at least get to level 40 and buy the X2010, but it's taking forever even having done all the seasonals. There needs to be a better way to earn XP/credits than grinding the darn Dream Car Championship (which btw would be alright if it were not for that stupid class C Jaguar, which pretty much forces you to use a really fast car to win and dominating the rest of the field) over and over again.

I also agree about saving during endurance races. I lost 2.5 hours on one race when after taking a bathroom break I sat down to my wheel and evidently tweaked it slightly to the side as I was unpausing and restarted the race instead :ouch:. Endurance races would also be awesome if they had HUGE CREDIT AND XP PAYOUTS! Why not reward hours of driving? Why do 5 laps around Daytona pay out credits as much as two hour race? These things seem very fixable.

They reintroduced old seasonal events along the new ones :P
Are we all happy now?
