So Last night I started the 4 hour MX5 race at Tsubuka, a race I have had for whatever reason problems finishing. Like this summer when the power went out in a storm, or my dog putting his nose in the exact right place to turn off the PS3.

So.....last night I race for an hour 45, and hit the new pause feature. Tonight I sit down fire up GT5, it askes if I want to continue where I left off, I say yes, the race starts........and some idiot AI wingnut is now driving my car! I resumed the race at lap 74....now at lap 106, the AI dude is just driving along. I must say his shift points suck, and his tire management is horrible. I did 70 laps on a half a tank and minimal tire wear, he is 30ish laps into his "stint" and hes burned half the tires off.

So I ask, am I missing something here? I thought the whole point of this pause feature was to be able to "drive" the race and not have to leave the PS3 "on" for however many days it takes to finish a race. If I wanted to watch an endurance race I'd buy a ticket to the Rolex 24 (actually I did and will be there for the 50th running of that race in January) instead. I'd really rather be driving this race.

oh look......lap 112 sigh........

That's actually not supposed to happen, it's a bug that has yet to be fixed. You have to start over, because the AI won't pit for you :ouch:.

I really hope this doesn't happen to me! I'm 7 hours into the Tsukuba 9hr race, I'll throw a tantrum if this glitch happens

Maybe you will successfully complete it on your 4th attempt though :p

actually......he drove 2 hrs 15 mins on 1 tank of gas and the tires were completely gone. He must have been driving on the rims. Despite all of that he finished and won by 12 laps (4 of those laps were mine)

Score one for the AI
