in the nissan R89C, how do the pitstops work? (covered back wheels!)

Im not sure this was worth a new thread, but I think the camera angle just doesnt show the back wheel on these cars while in the pit.

Yeah you can't see the back wheels in the pit stops, but irl the covers over the wheels came off with the wheels.

As live4speed said, on some cars the covers come off with the wheels. On certain cars the covers fold up so the wheels can be accessed. Some newer cars with wheel covers had a shorter axle to allow the wheel to be taken off the axle and brought downwards so that it came out under the car itself.

Most likely in real life the real car probably did not have wheel covers during the races. If so the team would have to be extra speedy in the pits with those things.

In my game it gets all pixelated when they take off the rear tires, as if the rear tire area was an explosed nipple or something. After the "whirl whirl" of the 'air gun' sounds, the pixels return to normal and the car speeds off, spilling gas and igniting the pit.

Sounds like a bad idea, running narrower track than normal! You'd be better off, in terms of car dynamics, having removable covers than shortening the rear axle.

Yeh, a shorter rear axle is usually 'countered' with a longer front. Whoever thought that up was an idiot.

the same thing happens to me...its an amazing show...it really is, isnt it?
