Have you considered making a true "realistic" or "hard-core" online mode? Essentially a mode which locks players into a realistic racing experience in which driver responsibility is a key component to victory? Currently the hosted races are largely filled with racers who have little regard for the rules of racing, or the consequences of bad driving. Additionally, people who aren't doing well routinely quit a race rather than finishing. I feel that a new mode, in which such things as "heavy damage" are hard-coded and not changeable, would give those of us wanting a more realistic and "gentlemanly" racing environment a place to go to meet like-minded racers. It could even include a possible lock-out of the quit function: Once you are in the "hard-core" mode, you are locked in that mode until you exit at the END of a race, and then gracefully exit the hard-core mode... You earn credits for each race, but these credits aren't saved until you exit properly (they should also save in the case of a server error). If a player gets frustrated and quits a race (by using the PS button to quit the entire game), they lose ALL credits gained while they raced in hard-core mode. Players must do their best to drive well, because if they don't their car will be broken until they can limp into a pit... Things like that.
