The other day I was grinding the Eifel seasonal with a tuned Autozam AZ-1, which had around 360 PP. After a race, I tried to enter it again but a screen popped up saying REGULATIONS DISABLED. I went and looked at the PP and it had somehow jumped to 421 PP. Does anyone know why this happened?

Yep all cars "bed in" after a while which increases the bhp of the car which in turn would cause the pp to rise. You can adjust the power limiter to bring the pp down again

This happens to me in just about every car, except oddly not online (open lobby/lounge) that often. For grinding eifel I just put the pp down two clicks instead of one. It's not a significant difference and lets you grind much longer without resetting limiter.

Does anyone else realize how wrong this sounds? Enough with the immaturity but I've never had one of these happen before.

lol Increase in PP. I put two and two together after popcorn mentioned "the name."

Back on topic:
I never realized this happens to the cars.

Of course, this happens as the engine breaks in. I had to adjust HP after 5 races or so. So I did the same as Tower Turn, putting it down 2 points each time.

All I did was drop my Power limiter from 100% to 99% and I've been able to run for almost another 25 races without having to lower my limiter anymore.

360 to 421 seems a big 'bedding in' increase to me, although if it did happen, it still could've been gradual, if you were 'grinding' a lot, since it's only going to warn you once it goes over 420.

The Cervo I was using started out at 417pp, but I changed the oil, which put it to about 425pp, so I detuned it. Now, at 100% power it's about 435pp and seems to be still sneaking up occasionally.

It has increase. I went to use an older car of mine that I hadn't used for a while.

Ran the first race, went to run the second and the PP was 100 higher. (On a car from the UCD)

Also experienced this when I go to change the settings of a car that I haven't used before/in a along time. I think it refreshes, it may say 600pp before, go into settings and before you've even changed anything it could say 650pp

"PP" - just one of the many poor design choices of GT5. I'm glad we didn't have to settle for calling it by that name all these years in Forza, where it was instead "PI" (for Performance Index). Maybe Polyphony should have just ripped off the same name instead of going with PP. Did nobody at PD say that aloud so much as once before implementing it?

"I did something that made my PP go up. I didn't even mean to make my PP bigger. My PP is huge now!" If only this game was on Wii. "I was playing with my Wii today and my PP went up."

Congratulations. You also found the problem that exists, because the PPs were changed in one of the updates so as not to include tyres anymore.

PPs in your garage's overview are not automatically updated. Only if you go to settings at least once after the update, they will be updated.

With the Autozam, which has Comfort Softs or Medium as stock tyre, the effect is pretty big, because the PPs were normalized to Sports Medium. Hence an increase in PP for all stock road cars (and a decrease for race cars).

Your PPs did not jump up more than 60 points because of this though. It would explain an increase of about 40-45 points. Chances are, you did something else to the car as well.
