It should be possible to move the camera into the following areas to improve flexibility in angles of view, and allow the camera to get farther away from the subject. I find myself forced into using a wider angle lens setting than I like and get too much distortion. Some desired shots are just impossible.
  • Off Track locations including grandstand seats. The edge of the track should not be a barrier to the photographer's movements.
  • Higher altitude point of view options. Think of some of those wonderful fixed cameras above Conrod Straight at Bathurst!
  • Ability to move the "fixed" cameras in space.
  • Areas of the Travel Photo sets which are currently off-limits.

As much as I would love these features, all of these ( excepting adding some fixed cameras the first suggestion ) would be abused and people would complain about areas that aren't textured, etc. that were never meant to be in the first place.

I'd be happy to be required to click on "Accept" to accept that I understand that I may take the camera into places where it doesn't operate perfectly and weird stuff may happen. I'm an adult and can live with such things while gaining flexibility.

I'd like add to my list.

The ability to move the camera closer to the ground!

Yeah, I think that they would rather not have a bunch of jacked up photos in the photo stream, though. It would make the game look bad to prospective customers. Not to mention unsavory media outlets publishing photos that make the game look like it has major bugs.

With all due respect, there is precedent in allowing the player to place the "camera" flexibly in video games, and without detriment to the sales figures. Think of the beauty in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion which encouraged whole galleries of screen shot images. On the PC version, the player can position the camera without restriction. Even underground or inside objects! In these cases, we see weird effects to be sure.

Had Bethesda Softworks been concerned about the potential damage to game reputation, I doubt that they would have continued that capability in the following games Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Skyrim has sold over twenty million copies (about twice the GT5 sales number I believe).

I'd be more concerned about this forum's members' emotional rants about what they don't like in PD's games!

(Actually, I wouldn't be concerned, since I'm sure most buyers of, say GT6, are unaware of the existence of GTP.)

This is my online gallery of Skyrim "photos". The camera location in Skyrim can be moved anywhere without any barriers whatsoever. This gallery is a somewhat raw collection and needs culling, but click on any thumbnail which interests you for a larger version.
