Inefficient engines

ineffecient engines, ah yes, but what about interior quality? need we forget America makes a car with less interior quality than some foreign cars, yes, let's bring that up, and change the subject to one we've discussed countless times already, rather than speaking on engine effeciency, cause really, when you have a nice wood grain interior, nothing else matters.

Since you felt the need to bump this up to make us all go back on topic despite no one posting in the thread for 2 days, I must ask: Do you honestly think that engine efficiency has not been talked about here countless times before, if not more than interior quality?

They are things that come up quite often, particularly when models like the Corvette and S2000 are in the mix. Its part of what happens these days, so I can't complain too much...

Of course there are far too many people who can't see too far past their Honda/Toyota blinders to even notice that their quality has dropped signifigantly over the past generation, and that of the competition is improving, although it has been a slow process.

Who has the best combo right now (engine/interior)? I think I'd have to give the nod to VW at the moment, but that may just be me...

Audi by a considerable margin. Their interiors have been praised left and right by various publications, and they have some great engines, too, like that 4.2L V8 of theirs. VW is good, but Audi's engines (or should I say, the engines that VAG chooses for Audi) and interiors are a step above.

(haha, I beat Poverty to the punch. :sly: )

Almost on topic: I think that the mercedes c-class has inferior materials, but the engine has some seirious oomph.

I'd agree for the most part on Audi, but I really didn't call it because it isn't an "everyman" car like Volkswagen. That said, VAG has been on-target with most of their models over the last five or so years, and I'm very excited to see how the future works out.

...And I think GM deserves a nod as well, as although they aren't the best, I think they deserve an award for "most-improved" when it comes to engine/interior combos on various models...
