Yes, much like the Best Motoring thread this one too has been recycled. GTPlanet.net has a very strict and severe policy when it comes to discussing piracy. That thread had so many violations it wasn't funny.

And again, like the Best Motoring thread, it'll stay gone.

End of story.

Yes, how will people inform new things about Initial D? Going on another forum than GTP ?! (You can close the thread if you want)
 
You are more than welcome to talk about Initial D, but it is illegal to post links to these pirated video downloads.
 
The files were being copied without the copyright owner's permission. GTPlanet could be held liable in court for aiding in the distribution of the files.

You do know that it is totally legal to download TV shows that are not aired on the US TV Market. Also is the MPAA going to go after everyone that owns a Tivo, DVR, PVR, or VCR? You have to ask yourself can you get Initial D Stage 4 Episodes through US TV Pay-per-Views? You can not buy Initail D Stage 4 DVD Sets at any major retail outlets, you have to go to some mom/pop retail outlet to special order them from Japan, but I do understand that you have to protect yourself from the RIAA, and MPAA.

I think it would have been more fair to just delete the posts. There was alot of good discussion going on in that thread. Everyone shouldn't have to pay for someone's forgetfulness of the board rules. frestkd also gives very valid points.

The legality of downloading or purchasing them is irrelevant. That thread was using GTplanet as a way to provide links to pirated content. I, or Jordan, don't particularly care what you download or special order or pirate. We do care when you use GTP to distribute it or discuss it.

That is the issue addressed by Jordan, the Acceptable Use Policy, and Terms of Service here at GTPlanet.

It's your choice to abide by those, it's our decision if you do not.

Some of those do have legal and legitimate purpose. We catch them as we see them and move on from there. We're not 100%, as this is a large community and we're only human.

You are responding as if this was a discussion. It isn't. Go back and re-read the TOS and Acceptable Use Policy to understand Jordan's and GTP's policy on Piracy.

I honestly couldn't care less what you download, and I'm not trying to directly enforce any type of laws, or anything like that. I'm not even saying "don't download this/that". What I am trying to do is protect myself from legal trouble, and to keep from getting suspended by the advertisers who help me pay for this place. I really wish you guys would understand that.
 
Jordon I understand, you're running a business with this website, first it was a hobby for you but now that it's being so popular it turn itself into a business. You don't want to risk getting sued, or shutdown by the MPAA/RIAA or some Federal Government Agency.

No, it's not totally legal to download shows that are not aired on the US market. Where did you get that idea? Just because something is not for sale in your area does not mean it is legal to steal it.

It is legal to record broadcast music or shows for your own use (Tivo, VCR, etc). However, it is illegal to distribute that broadcast in any way, even if you are giving it away. It's even illegal to show it to a large group of people at once, as in a theatre.
