I'm fairly sure you're not supposed to talk about warez accumulation or that kind of thing on GTP.

<obligatory 'this has nothing to do with GT3 drifting, you moron' comment here>

I think you man Fan subbed.
Anyways, it is illegal now to distribute Initial D 1st stage because it's been licensed in America by Tokyo Pop. I'm not sure about the other stages though....i don't keep track with Tokyo Pop cuz they suck.
Fansubs are not illegal until a company from where ever you live licenses it. That's why all fansubbing groups stop fansubbing an anime series when a company from their country licenses it.

It doesn't matter if it's the tokyo pop version or not. If you look on any fansub organization site, they have a bunch of discontinued anime series, most of them already licensed and shown in the US on tv. People used to fansub D.N. Angel but they stopped because of licensing. Same goes with Full Metal Panic, Rurouni Kenshin, Initial D, etc...
The only reason you can still find them around on Kazaa or mIRC is because people are still distributing it illegally. It's sorta hard to find individual people who distribute the anime, especially on mIRC.
