Hi All,
So not long after I started GT5 Photography, a friend and I decided it would be cool to do some photos from "Initial D", which I shall blatantly assume that most of you know what it is. If not, google it and find out just what you're missing out on.
Anyway, we did a few practice runs to essentially see if it were possible, AKA "Proof of Concept" photos. Each photo's been treated in photoshop with a very simple and quick "posterize" filter. We had planned on doing the entire series and uploading them season by season, buuuuuut we were tardy/lazy/busy/whatever and never actually went beyond doing the AE86 vs FD. ...............which I can't for the life of me find out where they are on my computer.
But since it was so long ago and these photos have been sitting here collecting digital dust while waiting for us to finish a series, I decided to just post up the "proof of concept" photos and see what you guys think!
For ease, we started off with the AE86 SS and a CF Hooded Civic Type R (4th Stage, Episodes 5 & 6). We did our first few test shots on Tsukuba, in the day time.
You can even see the skidmarks where we've tried multiple attempts...
But then we thought we'd try it in the dark and the most realistic thing in GT5 that we could think of to match the mountain passes was the Nurb at night... ..........which proved to be ridiculously difficult for us to coordinate lol.
Also the "standard" headlights looked like garbage.
My god...these headlights... /facepalm
We then later decided to start and make the 1st stage of Initial D, which would be the yellow FD3S vs the AE86 on Clubman Stage (which worked 10x better than the Nurb because it had street lights, woooo), but again, I have no idea where I put those photos. They're lost somewhere in the abyss that is my computer... and then after that, we kind of us... didn't do any more lol, tragic isn't it?
Anyway, let me know what you guys think. Who knows, we might actually start doing it again. ...Don't quote me on that though lol.
