Cause we all havent seen enough videos with white FC's, Green S13's, and SS version 86's. j/k. I'm sure there are others along the same lines, but I havent seen one like mine yet.

Making a GT3 vid is something I've wanted to do since I started drifting (a month ago, but oh well). All of the cars in there are as close to their advertised HP is in the manga, with the exception of Shingos EG6, I think I only did exhaust on it to boost a small bit of hp, it was my first time drifting FF (hell, it was my first time drifting almost all of those cars except for the FD, my main drifting cars are my MR2 and S14) so I didnt know what to expect so I decided to try to keep the hp down till I figured out how to properly A$$-drag.

Anyway, scope it out and let me know what you think.

PS. Video is encoded in Xvid, audio is MP3, for those of you that may have problems playing it.

[sarcasm]You know, I was just sitting here today thinking to myself "You know what we need? Another Initial D tribute video!" and then I log on here and BAM. Somebody was obviously reading my mind. [/sarcasm]

EDIT: to clear up some confusion.

Much thanks for the props, I had fun putting it together (except for the MKV files I had to bust up).

Xvid: Someone has to beta test it =P Its not bad of a codec, although I'll probably be going back to 3ivx. For those of you who down have it, you can get it from http://www.divx-digest.com/software/xvid.html

And yes Mark, I was peeking into your brain =)

Did somone already make an initila-D tribute....IT doesnt matter that blew it away. great editing and greadt vids. AND great drifts. hte best part was when it showed him counter-steer so did the car. haha :D 👍 👍 👍 👍

Wow, I'm amazed you fellas like it, and quite happy too =)

I've only been drifting for a month and I cant quite drift as fast or nearly as smooth as some of the pros here, but I try. Having a working knowledge from working on my own car gives me a bit of help with the tuning of the vehicle but we all know performance is about 20 percent car 80 percent driver (I'm mean look at poor Nakazato =( dude has the best car in the animation series and he cant buy a win).

Its all good man, hes not in the movie I dont think, and if he is its like a 10 second clip (even though the movie is like 2-3 hrs long). If you were talking about the series as a whole, my apologies.

that was a nice vid you created. i liked the editing alot. your drifts are clean and by the looks of it, ( forgive me if mistaken ) you use a steering wheel?

on a scale from 1-10... i'd give it a 9.5
nicely done...

6months?? the cartoon came out in 99-2000......
oh wait maybe 6months ago for it being translated into english or whatever, just so u know, the translations are never all that correct. i think its that way because they word it so americans can understand it. im japanese but im from los angeles, born raised here 2nd generation i can write speak and understand it, but not 100% probably because of the culture gap (since i was born here) anyhow all i wanted to say was that unless ur a japanese from japan then ull be able to understand it to the fullest extent, because from my studies i learned that there are alot of words that cant really be translated into english. well... thats me thoughts didnt get to finish downloading ur video clip but i anticipate it to be great.
by the way.... how did everybody find out about drifting here??? ill be honest i found out through a friend telling me about initial d but that was a few years ago probably right after the series ended on tv. i just never thought that drifting would become this big here.... well maybe its a fadd, but only time will tell the only people who would still love it after its all died down are the true heads.... my names shelley its nice to meet all u.

Doesn't matter anyway... due to my short memory, I would most probably forget what anyone said about initial D in like a week!!!:lol:

haha real badass man, as much as this idea has been played out, you really made it worth watching! real smooth fd and ae86's drift too

welcome to the club Shelley (sounds like a girl's name):)

I'm ashamed to say that I only watched about 4 episodes of initial D... downloaded it from iMesh... took forever man.. I now want to buy the movie and complete series... but have to sort my credit card security... seeing that there are so many hackers around!!!

I've been using a wheel for about a week and a half. I started with the pad, then got too frustrated and finally plopped down the cash for a wheel. All of those clips save for 1 (it was unimportant filler in the beginning) were collected with the wheel. Thanks for the props =)

by the way.... how did everybody find out about drifting here???

I learned about it from one of my friends when I was 16 when I got my S14 back in 97. He asked me if I was going to do some "drifting" with it and I gave him a blank stare. He showed me some videos and I was hooked. 2 years later (after I finally saved up enough cash), I threw down for my SR20 and FMIC (not my Gred, that came much later) and I started going to the local tracks and practicing. I didnt learn about Initial D until I came into the military, and my first roomate told me about it since he heard how interested I was in cars. He showed me a couple eps and I was all about it.

haha real badass man, as much as this idea has been played out, you really made it worth watching! real smooth fd and ae86's drift too

Ah thanks. I actually got the most frustration from the 86 due to its lightweight body. I'm more used to my bulky S14 I use in the game, so a 750ish KG car was a tad hard to control.

Yeah, there was a good tribute out there already. I have yet to see ID, but will get around to it eventually........considering that hype always exceeds the actual quality of something, I'm betting that this is something I'll get when the english version hits the stores......or I'll see it on Cartoon network....whichever comes first.

Good vid.....you're not too shabby at the drifting bro, so don't be so quick to put yourself down. Next time you do some @$$ dragging, use dark rims and replay angles that don't accentuate the rear tires........Rear-wheel lock is unattractive. Some poeple here call it cheating, but whatever gets the job done, you know?
Good job, keep it up!!!

no gtr (because zack did't give a good challenge ):( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

Thanks, I try. I'm very new at drifting in this game, and I have a hard time counter-steering due to the constrictions of how much my wheel can turn (ie: no hand over hand action). I'll keep what you said about the FF cars in mind, those are good points.

Nightkids4ever, I used several programs to extract the Initial D content from .mkv files. VirtualDubMod was most helpful because I did not have the audio encoding files needed to render those files in most players, so I just removed all audio from the file and then re-encoded it to xvid from there. I also used VirtualDubMod for the capturing. For the actual clip assembly I used a program called Ulead MediaStudio Pro, which is ok for small projects, but it seems to take some patience and you have to kinda sweet talk the program to get it to do anything right. I dont know how much longer I'll be using that, as I've decided to give it a fair shot, so I may make one more video in it and then move on if all doesnt fair well.

after something like 3 or 4 long hours of downloading last night, i was finally able to see it.... pretty damn good for a month of practice but i just didnt feel like GT and intial D really mixed well... first off Gt has huge tracks and initial d has lots of small windy turns ive been to japan and have seen some of the places they shown. (the roads they raced on initial d are real, they just gave them different names) and second initial d wasnt 100% about drifting, anybody who can understand japanese can tell u. it was more about who was the fastest, on certain roads. PS- id really like somebody to make a vid with cote azar, some more settle circuit, and use the escudo, alto, Z33, Denso JZA80, JZX100, CN9A,CP9A SWs,GTRs, S14, S15, and RPs. thanks to everybody making vids, it keeps me inspired to not quit.

nice vid man. the EG6 didn't drift in ID and also the R32 (if you decide to do it the next time) either.. You need to battle someone like according to what ID happend and stuff.. that would be awsome.. :D

I got it from the boxed cd set, its like 5 cd's and some Initial D stuff inside the set too.

Jetstorm, believe me, if I knew anyone around me that could drift or had any interest in it what so ever, I would have been all over that. I would have gotten edit crazy and shown aspects from both points of view and threw in clips of them watching their opponent in front of them and such.
