I've been testing about >5000h, and so I qualify myself to say what I've said already. No noticeable input lag from wheel.
edit, ok maybe closer to >1000h
What do you mean by this?

And what a proof is that? a laggy tv?
Just compare:
.....
Anyway:
Since your monitor is not a native 1900x1080 the scaling of the picture can produce lag, a lot of monitor have lag problems with no native resolutions from external sources
I've tested this at length with different cars, different views, watching replays, etc. As far as I can tell, there is no lag between steering input and the car actually steering. The only lag is visual. The animated driver in the car doesn't turn the animated wheel exactly when you turn it. Also understand that nothing about the animated wheel (including movement, angle, etc.) has to do with the cars actual steering, it's just eye candy.
Did you look at the actual wheels in external view?
glad I have Samsung SyncMaster 226BW 22'' (2ms)
irrelevant.
Did you look at the actual wheels in external view?
Yes, I did. I did not notice any lag at initial movement in that view. What I did notice was that the wheels can only turn so fast, which was a bit slower than my fastest steering input. I firmly believe that this is only because of animation. What you see the car doing in the game may not necessarily correspond to what the physics engine is doing, the idea is to make the car look like it is doing what you feel.
You can notice this much more so in Forza Motorsport 3 videos. Especially when ISR tested it at E3. Those guys are pretty hardcore PC sim racers, and they didn't complain about it one bit, reaffirming my idea that it is purely visual. That video can be seen here at around the 8:30 mark.
The fact they can not turn as fast is just as bad.
Also why do the PC sims like LFS not have animational lag, they look perfectly in sync almost. I believe the whole screen is lagging from my experience.
Most PC sims have a directly link between steering input and wheel/tyre models movement. From a purely visual standpoint I think that the animation method used in GT5 looks more realistic than most PC sims, but it would be harder to get them to match 1:1. For example, if you turn your wheel to max lock, the driver in the car in GT5 does not turn the wheel that much, but you still get full steering lock.
Surely the question is -
do we have "Input lag"?
or
do we have "Output lag"?
or
do we have both...
"Input Lag" - is where you change your input - and the PC/PS3/Xbox/Sky box/Vidoe etc then takes times to process this input.
"Output Lag" - is where the input has been processed - and the appropriate output has a delayed response...
The 2 monitor shown above shows that the 2 monitors have differing "output lags"... it's impossible to say how much "input lag" it has without seeing the actual input...
With regards to GT5... (And all other games...) there is bound to be lag...
a) In the input device (probably more for a wireless controller).
b) In the processing.
c) In the transmission to the Output.
Now the question is - is the lag big enough to make the game unplayable?
C.
in conclusion;
1. There's lag from the displays & hardware - too small to notice when driving bumper view (with good monitor).
2. The animated things (wheel & hands, maybe even tires) lag, thus disturbing driving incar & possibly in all views that show animated things.
So: Use bumper viewAll good there

Fact is i can compare PC to PS3 on the same screen and observe the results. PC = almost instant
GT5 = delayed
So therefore bringing monitor lag into the issue is irrelevant
Do you use identical inputs and turn off all picture "improvement" circuits?
in conclusion;
1. There's lag from the displays & hardware - too small to notice when driving bumper view (with good monitor).
2. The animated things (wheel & hands, maybe even tires) lag (= not in sync with the wheel inputs), thus disturbing driving incar & possibly in all views that show animated things (related to driver inputs).
So: Use bumper view All good there
I thought I particularly eliminated the monitor lag in the prev post,....did my english let me down?
Well no. I use DVI for pc and HDMI for PS3
