Since most of the people buying these cars are absolute green freaks with little regard or knowledge of autombiles, they get the Insight because it gets better mileage.

I've got into shouting matches with owners of Priuses (Prii?) about the fact that the EPA figures for the Prius - 54 MPG - nearly match the EPA figures for the infinitely better Jetta TDi wagon (51 MPG).

Yeah, and the Hybrid motor is about ten percent of the actual power, so the car only gets a few extra miles per gallon.

I think I heard like 37MPG or so...not enough to make me buy one of them instead of a regular Civic(if I wanted to buy a Civic...).

I agree, especially with the huge extra cost. Doesn't make it worth it.
