I'm just wondering if it's necessary to install every stage upgrade in order for the best performance. I've been told you don't have to, just install stage 3 but then I've been told that installing all three is the best.

Just want to clear this up,

Thanks in advance.

The staged upgrades (weight, engine) can only be installed in order. Fairly annoying as it'd be nice if you could just install all three at once if you wanted.

Okay so you do have to install all three for weight and engine. Same for turbo I'm guessing?

Turbos aren't done in stages. The three options are three different turbos, you pick the one you want depending on the car and tune you're going for. For weight and engine you have to install all of the stages up to the one you want.

So if you want stage 2 weight reduction you have to install 1 and 2. If you want the mid-range turbo, you just install the mid range turbo. You can't have more than 1 turbo installed at the same time.

edit: You can have all three turbos purchased for the same car and swap between them as you like, but only 1 will be installed at a time. Same goes for exhausts. Engine tuning and weight reduction are the only staged upgrades.

Often for best performance you only have to install customizable gearbox, LSD and suspension. HP isn't everything.
